Great City trail. Don’t go beyond any ropes as the cliffs are very dangerous. On a clear day the views are amazing.

Be sure to go past Geary Street to Sutro park for another quick walk.

Easy trail suitable for all ages. Catch a view of the Golden Gate Bridge on sunny days.

My favorite backyard hiking area! Easily end up with 15-20 miles. Coastal scenery is top notch, especially sunrise/sunset hikes. Lots of challenging hills to choose from. Great day hike

Come it was our first time, and it’s a great hike. It was about 4 miles in all, and the first part is steep, and it’s a bit slippery going back down, It’s good to have a hiking poles. The views are beautiful, and the loop on top is mostly level, and in a redwood and oak forest. Really peaceful. Dogs off leash are allowed on the fire trail going up, but on the loop need to be leashed, and it is enforced. Hike took us about two hours, going a pretty easy pace

Gorgeous views. Awesome beach at the end. Almost no people. A lot of picnic tables with spectacular views.

Beautiful views. Also, great to visit to watch sunset. It’s very easy, so you don’t have to wear hiking shoes etc. Great to bring friends / family visiting out of town. Check the weather before going, there is no point going there when foggy.

This was a quick down and back hike .8 miles each way. My dad and I took a long lunch break on a Friday for this route. going in the middle of the day made for easier parking and it wound up a perfect break from the work day!

The view never grows old. Elevation is just right.

Nearly got my left foot bitten off by a sea lion. Needless to say he won't be swimming straight for a while. Absolutely gorgeous trail, bring along sustenance to snack by the ocean and meditate.

Beautiful views. Nice for an easy stroll.

Beautiful trail with beautiful views. I’ve been here twice in 3 weeks. I love it. Good for children also.

Great trails for all, you can make it difficult to moderate. Lots of stairs going down to the ocean. Beautiful views, however the downfall is how many people were there. Everyone was friendly and politely passed the slower people. Lots of dogs through the trails, not all on leashes.

At first you go uphill for about 1/2 a mile and then you start heading downhill. You end up at a beach which is BEAUTIFUL! Coming back the road is steep, but not difficult.

Love this hike, and I’m biased because it’s where my husband proposed. ❤️

Awesome views of the ocean and golden gate. Downside is how much foot traffic there is.

Note that if you search "King Mountain Loop Trail" on Google Maps, it'll take you to the trailhead out at Ridgecrest Road, where it's much more out of the way and harder to find parking. Regardless, it's still a charming loop trail. We went counter-clockwise and covered about 3/4 of the loop before taking the Citron Fire Road down to the start/end trailhead designated on AllTrails. The fire road provided a beautiful view of Marin with a steep downhill incline. The loop part of the trail is fairly easy and well-shaded under consistent tree cover. However, the trail gets narrow at parts and has a lot of rocky ground and uneven roots. Also be on the lookout for poison oak. We saw some lizards and even a curious deer, but no other animals (still, heed the coyote warning signs)! We were also pleasantly surprised to find ample cell phone service for our map apps. Dogs are allowed, and bikes are not. Enjoy the beautiful, varied plant life and views of Marin throughout. Not crowded at all, even on Labor Day.

Listed as moderate, but I would say on the easier side of moderate, especially if you choose not to descend to the beach. One of the most scenic hikes I have done south of the bridge (only done 7 so far). There is no doubt I will do this one again and recommend to friends. Interestingly, I found the many folks that were on this trail were by far more friendly than other trails in the bay area. Great hike and close to many other great activities in Park and Presidio.

breathtaking view after breathtaking view. hands down best scenic hike we’ve been on to date. not a lot of work but a lot of reward. if your dog is friendly, this is the perfect place for you!

Fun and easy hike. Gets crowded on Saturday especially when the weather is nice. Will do it again since it’s just minutes away from my home.

I started hiking the Land’s End Trail and continued on to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a beautiful day in March and while there were many people at the bridge, the foot traffic was moderate on the trail. Take care as you navigate traffic on some of the surface streets. I think up & back was about 8 to 8 1/2 miles. It is an easy hike/walk and the views are beautiful.

Great walk, beautiful weather. probably won't be doing it again but that is because of the traffic getting in and out of SF nothing to do with the trail. Will be recommending to friends it they are planing a day trip.

Nice ride, I attempted it for the first time on my road bike, and was easy even for a non experienced rider like myself.
A group of hardcore riders passed me and were shocked the Someone would attempt the trail on that type of bicycle so it must not be too difficult.

I didn’t go to the end, I turned off on Shafter grade to visit the dam and it was really really steep with loose rocks but doable with f/b disk brakes.
Over all well worth it.

I love this easy hike ! The birding is really good I saw a blue heron here last week.
You can access several trailheads from here as well.

I love this trail! I’ll take my dog out here early in the morning on weekends for a couple hour hike. The views are consistently beautiful and the trail is moderately challenging. I haven’t hiked the whole 22 mile out and back yet, but plan to someday!
I’m looking forward to seeing how this trail changes throughout the seasons.
Watch out for ticks though!!

I’ve done this trail from beginning to end and back again! A few times! I love all of it, the views are amazing and so are the trails and steps! It’s one that I will keep doing until I feel accomplished with my finish time, and even then, I will still do it because I personally like it!

Beautiful hike.

There are so many trails; even though we follow the direction, we still got lost 3 times and had to trek back. At one point the trail showed on the map/GPS doesn’t exist. Wasn’t sure I was going to make it through; but I did, yay! We got some sun, fog, and rain, too during our hike. Was a great hike though - loved it.

Hardly anyone on this trail which is hard to find close to SF. Great trail to do with doggos but no water for them anywhere at this time of year so carry extra! A couple options along the way to leave the ridge and meet route 1 if you want a shorter hike. No ticks and a couple cows that minded their own business.
