Great City trail. Don’t go beyond any ropes as the cliffs are very dangerous. On a clear day the views are amazing.

Be sure to go past Geary Street to Sutro park for another quick walk.

Started at Lands End and just kept going. Beautiful views of the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge. Recommend that you bring water, snacks, sun screen and a hat. It was cool in the breeze and warm in the sun. Lots of people and bikes as you get closer to the bridge.

Easy trail suitable for all ages. Catch a view of the Golden Gate Bridge on sunny days.

Come it was our first time, and it’s a great hike. It was about 4 miles in all, and the first part is steep, and it’s a bit slippery going back down, It’s good to have a hiking poles. The views are beautiful, and the loop on top is mostly level, and in a redwood and oak forest. Really peaceful. Dogs off leash are allowed on the fire trail going up, but on the loop need to be leashed, and it is enforced. Hike took us about two hours, going a pretty easy pace

Good fun. Few people

Enjoyable area to get and and enjoy the outdoors

great view and fun hike!! there is alot of dog poop on the trails so watch where you step

Great hike! Our dogs loved the private beach to play on.

Love the views of the hills & Bay Area. The hills give you a great workout. Interesting to see the Nike Missle site and learning about the history. I'd definitely do this again and hopefully keep hiking down to the Farallones Trail. Love the smells of the nearby plants and eucalyptus trees.

Curious urban section in between what is essentially 2 trails. Nice, long walk otherwise.

Beautiful views. Also, great to visit to watch sunset. It’s very easy, so you don’t have to wear hiking shoes etc. Great to bring friends / family visiting out of town. Check the weather before going, there is no point going there when foggy.

Pleasant stroll along the shore.

This is a trail -- or area -- you can customize to your own level/desires due to the number of criss-crossing options. I hiked early morning with the hills and coast in a fog and found this just completely beautiful and mesmerizing. Besides the first steep incline, the loop trail can be kept pretty easy, but if you want more of a challenge, work in a couple of jaunts to the peaks, you can even approach them from different sides to amp it up even more. There are also some interesting old cypress trees to admire in addition to all the wildflowers. I imagine this is really beautiful on a clear, sunny day as well. There were enough locals jogging or walking their dogs to keep it from being too creepy. But it didn't feel crowded at all.

Decent workout, gorgeous views of bay area and pacifico

A lot of walking across freeways or on the side of the road but great views and a good mix of hills and ocean.

5 stars for the birds, so many kinds!
And 4 stars for part of the trail so close with drive way, I don’t like to breathe cars;)

Free and plentiful parking. Trail starts at a beach where you can enjoy watching surfers. Heads steadily up and actually away from the coast - follow signs for trail, or if you choose get sidetracked on the smaller trails that run closer to the coast- just know they don’t necessarily connect back to this trail. On clear days you’re rewarded with views and on foggy days with ethereal beauty - can’t go wrong.

Nearly got my left foot bitten off by a sea lion. Needless to say he won't be swimming straight for a while. Absolutely gorgeous trail, bring along sustenance to snack by the ocean and meditate.

Beautiful views. Nice for an easy stroll.

I would rate this as moderate simply due to the few inclines and declines and the loose ground. They’re short bursts but enough to take it out of the easy category.

Sadly the trail has been destroyed with dog poop. I was disgusted by the sheer volume of poop we encountered. I was there with my dog and I had to ensure she didn’t stand on any. Ugh, people of California - please TAKE CARE of our coastline trails! 郎

Great views, but be careful with dogs or kids as some sections cut very close to the edge! I

Beautiful trail with beautiful views. I’ve been here twice in 3 weeks. I love it. Good for children also.

Simple but full of history. The Sutro baths were awesome back in the day. A shame we lost them. Out front is my favorite fishing spot on the planet...

Great trails for all, you can make it difficult to moderate. Lots of stairs going down to the ocean. Beautiful views, however the downfall is how many people were there. Everyone was friendly and politely passed the slower people. Lots of dogs through the trails, not all on leashes.

A must do when visiting SF and wanting to see the Golden Gate. Lots of tourist traffic and signs warning of break ins. Dont let it deter you from taking this brief walk up the hill. You will see new plantings and construction efforts to maintain the habitat for a butterfly. A few stairs, an uphill trot, and some neat tunnels to walk through. We saw many hawks and ravens. Fun for sightseeing.

Awesome views of the ocean and golden gate. Downside is how much foot traffic there is.
