Great hike! Would recommend morning start before it gets too hot.

Waterfall was dried out but the views were gorgeous and there’s a nice river spot if you go off trail a bit.

Great trail, shaded under the canopy of trees. Stay cool even when warm out. No water in waterfall most of the year., but a treat when there is. Add on and take the 150 stairs to the Mesa for a 4.4 mile hike in total. Dog friendly, not crowded, well maintained trail. Garland is the best, well kept, clean and beautiful place to hike.

A wonderful hike! Great walk through beautiful trees (oak, bay, buckeye), with useful signs identifying them. Gentle slopes and well maintained trail, keeping plenty of room to pass between the poison oak. Don't miss the short side trip to Siesta Point. The waterfall area was fascinating, even though dry now... Must be spectacular when flowing. And we ended with a nice little wade in the Carmel River.

Le sentier est très bien entretenu, fait en été, la waterfall était à sec mais doit être très belle en saison humide.

Pleasant 4-mile loop, partly along a gentle creek. Some exposed parts of the trail so may not be best for a hot day but also a fair amount of shade. Trail is fully passable with some rock bridges across the higher crossings.

Nice trail. There was no water when I went about a month ago. Parking lot was full and lots of foot traffic on the trail. Good for all ages so their was a lot of families.

Very steep, but very rewarding view from the top. There are also many other connecting trails to follow for a longer hike.

Really awesome trail. Great sights and good mix up of uphill downhill. Lots of open sun areas in beginning and then about .5mike in tree cover is nice for the rest of the hike. Brought our small dog and found one tick on her face even though we used rock wipes and a big repellant shirt on her. Lots of different off chutes to extend the journey. Will definitely be back to colors more!

Great hike! Sunny and exposed at first but then goes into the trees and is mostly shaded. So lush and green. Tons of poison oak right now though.

Nice hike lots of uphill if you go clockwise. Counter clockwise is easier way to do this. Due to covid19 lot of people wearing face masks when coming in contact.

Relatively easy, with just enough incline to get your heart going. Breathtaking views at the top. Lots.of trails to choose from that loop with each other.

This is a great place to hike especially if you get there early. Of course I had my dog with me. One sign says leashed are all times then a little further in another sign says dogs must be under voice control and in sight at all times. A lot of opportunity to extend your hike on a different trail if you so desire. I extended past waterfalls and came across the top then down fern trail to Cottonwood. They haven’t put the bridges back across yet so you have to go to the right from the parking lot and over the visitors Center Bridge. A great hike today. Not buggy. I started at 0630, when coming out it was a little busier at 0900.

Challenging trail. Bring extra water. Bring a walking stick. I did see a coyote about 15 feet from me on the trail. Lovely views. Great workout.

Hiking

Moderately hard trail with steep ascent/descent, so come with good shoes and good attitude. Shady areas throughout. We did it counterclockwise but might try it the other way around next time. Best part about this hike is the remote parking/trailhead, away from the main Garland parking lot.

Very steep, hard trail with lovely wildflowers and views along the way. Parking by the trailhead along a back road in Carmel Valley.
