Description

El Capitan State Beach offers visitors a sandy beach, rocky tidepools, and stands of sycamore and oaks along El Capitan Creek. Its a perfect setting for swimming, fishing, surfing, picnicking and camping. A stairway provides access from the bluffs to the beach area. The park is open sunrise to sunset. Please check with the park page for information at https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=601 Accessibility: This trail is paved with asphalt and is estimated to be 3.5-9 feet wide. The estimated slope ranges from 0-16%. Some sections within the first 1 mile may be very steep. There is another parking lot by waypoint number 1 which may be ideal to park at to skip these very steep sections. There are 6 ADA-compliant parking spots at the parking lot by waypoint 1 with access aisles.Show more
