Finally had a chance to check this place out. The description is fairly accurate: easy, flat sandy trail for the first 3/4 of the 3.5 mile trek, but once you hit the creek and up to the waterfall there’s lots of rocks and creek hopping. Not steep, though. Stick to weekdays if you dislike crowded trails. The creek and falls offer some nice photo opportunities. Great for kids and dogs. I took my 8 and 14 year old boys and they loved it.

Loved this trail! it was my five-year old's first hike and she conquered it like a boss. it was easy enough for her to complete it and challenging enough to make her want more.

The waterfall at the end was worth it as well! there was plenty of water and kids playing under the fall. there were a couple of dogs playing as well, but they were leashed so it was relatively safe.

I wish we were more prepared for the hike though...maybe swimwear and extra clothes (and a small plastic bag) so that they can play in the water. we will definitely coming here a couple more times!

Fun and easy Trail. My 8 and 6yr old daughters loved it.. Specially when you have to walk along the streams. Would recommend to take water shoes so the little ones can enjoy the water.. I would agree with other comments, people need to learn how to pick up their mess. Went on a Sunday around Noon and there where a lot of people. Maybe you’ll have better luck during the week. Overall fun experience.

Easy hike with a lot of shaded areas. There are porta potties and trash bins in the entrance. People tend to not throw away their trash. It is a very crowded and popular trail. We always carry a plastic bag for trash. We need to remind people to pick up after themselves. I would also recommend wearing trail running shoes there's a lot of rocks and you do have to go through a lot to get to the waterfall. some get slippery.

Easy with a few 25 degree trail hills on lose gravel with varying shade depending on time of day. If forecast is sunny better beat the heat with some protection from the sun. Trail is about four person wide. Medium level usage of hikers, bikers, pets and horses. Pets (dogs) should be on leash but need to pick up after them. Watch out for wildlife like; birds but also be alert for rattle snakes, coyotes and sometimes if you are lucky a cougar. You can also follow the trail by following the dry river of boulders and rocks. Good training path for running marathons. This from a Chicago Il, hiker.

Nice easy hike with plenty of shade. Just watch your step when nearing the waterfall, lots of rocks. People please pick up your trash! #LeaveNoTrace

Took this one with my 3 1/2 year old grandson, and we made it all the way to the waterfall. He's an experienced hiker (sounds crazy but I started him young) so he was able to get up all the rocks and across the streams. Saw a couple of mule deers, very cool. Definitely wear good shoes and bring extra socks. Also, a great Nature Center at the trail head.

This poor little canyon has taken a beating between the fires and the number of people using it. At least have the decency not to leave your trash on the trail. Don’t use plastic water bottles and don’t leave your banana peals and bags with your dogs waste on the trail.

what an amazing experience. will be my go to when I want a quick nature fix

The hike is actual two hikes in one. The hike to the trail up the fire road is wide and easy. There are shady groves along the way in case you need rest on hot day. When you get to the mouth of Eaton Canyon that's where the fun starts. You will cross the the creek a number of time as you wind up the canyon. You have to do some rock climbing because you will have to go over outcroppings of boulders. Once you reach the falls, it will be worth it. If you have shaky balance I would strongly recommend hiking poles. Also exercise patients as you will encounter folks coming in and out of the canyon. Over all the hike is great for the first time hiker, casual hiker, or hikers with some trails and miles under their belt.

Perfect for the occasional hiker.

This trail is rigorous! We hadn’t hiked in a very long time, and this trail was a fun and challenging return to one of our favorite pastimes. Make sure you’re okay with getting your feet wet because crossing over some parts of the water was tricky! My dog loved it too!

It brings a lot of memories ;)

Beautiful shady trail that is mostly flat or close to flat, takes you up to small falls and then if you scamper up some rocks, you can get to the larger falls. As of April 18,2018 waterfall was full. Did this hike on a Wed and plenty of people out so I would imagine it’s packed on weekends. One main trailhead starts you off. We came to a form and made the mistake to go right up Walnut Canyon. That was a HARD vertical climb on switchbacks. Finally realized we we’re going the wrong way, so we went back down and took the flatter trail down to falls. I would say waterfall trail is EASY in terms of exertion level but need a little technical skill for crossing stream and using rocks to walk across.

Well it was a great trail. Can’t complain Iraq has better trails with some more adventure. For the people complaining about the trail I will politely say go screw your self and your little minds. Remember it’s a hiking trail that is moderate and not every trail is gonna be too your needs be happy Mother Nature doesn’t kill you or eat you alive. If you want a clean trail keep it clean if you want it to be less hard then it is then take your head out of your butt. Especially you Spanish speaking lady. Don’t go unless you are ready for it. Dumbasses

Easy trail. Small waterfall into shallow pool, good for kids and dogs to take a dip.

I loved the waterfall. The trail had a lot of creek crossings so don’t wear shoes you won’t want to get wet. Lots of dog poop on the trail, which is inexcusable considering there are baggies provided at the beginning of the trail. Got there early, trail had a couple of other groups on it. On the way out, there were massive groups of school kids and nature walks and the parking lot was full. Also, no one wants to hear your phone blasting your crap music. Turn it off!

Loved the water and rocks! Enjoyed the waterfall at the end, of course.

simplemente hermoso un lugar muy agradable...

Great trail if you get there early. Next time will go down the side entrance before the gates open. I'd do it again to explore Henniger Flats and Echo Mtn, but the main trail gets too crowded to really enjoy it. Constant people around and a lot of discarded trash and animal feces owners don't pick up. Beautiful hike ruined by people. Would rate a 5/5 if it weren't for that.

Loved taking the trail. However it’s very crowded at times. I recommend finding the smaller trails on the side to get some more intimate walking areas.

Go UNDER the bridge trail to get to the waterfall. With spring run-off your shoes WILL get wet crossing the stream (multiple crossings to get there & back). Parking overflow is down & right as you come down the entrance road. Restroom inside Nature Center. Crowded trail but worth it.

hermoso río y bonita cascada ! Solo que es muy concurrido .

Great winter/spring hike in cooler weather.

I loved it! Only hiked for 6 miles but it was worth it, mostly uphill so not for beginners, it’s great for building up stamina for more difficult hikes. I’d definitely recommend it.

Loved it! Especially in the rain

I imagine it may be nicer during the week, but very crowded on a Sunday morning, even in early February. We picked up lots of trash (wrappers and empty chip bags) near the base of the waterfall :(
