Very quiet on a Tuesday morning, and it was the perfect weather (overcast but not cold). Some narrow portions but I like those parts best because they are the most naturey :) not too strenuous but still lots of great views

Great views and I timed it perfectly with sunset today. I had to look at the map a couple of times on the way up to make sure I didnt miss where the trail splits because some of those signs arent great. My only qualm is that theres a .75 mile on the Cougar part that needs some love from maintenance.

great ridege,. I leave close so rode to trail holiday it gets packed.

holiday no parking,. o live close by so I rode bike to the trail,. great spot.

Great mtb ride with my bro

AWESOME loop! Tons of great climbs, couple walkers. The reward if you start on the right side on the loop, go around to the left is the downhill section... it's fun. No jumps or anything just fun climbing and downhill.

Medium traffic in the area, no cover, so bring water, and be ready for lots of dust. Pretty good for jogging most of the trail (aside from the up and back to Mt Stanley). Great for kids, families, and those that want some longer mileage. Very convenient to get from most of San Diego.

Light traffic. Very hot so bring lots of water. Saw three ponds and a lake. Beautiful, quiet, don’t bring your dog. Too hot!

Not the most interesting hike. And would classify as easy-moderate.

Great trail! Take note that it's really 8 miles, not 7.4. View from the top is great!

Daley ranch is a neat place with great trails for families, and hikers. arrive early or go when it's cooler in the season though. the road up from Escondido is pretty rutty, a low risen vehicle would have a hard time. coming from hidden meadows is nice and smooth.

Daley Ranch continues to impress. Entering from Cougar Pass Rd (dirt road) gets you away from the crowds. This hike has lots of oaks, creating some welcome shade on an otherwise very hot trail. Most of the trails are in good condition, except for Englemann Oak Trail between Cougar Ridge and Bobcat. That's 0.9 miles of steep, rocky, and very rutted trail.

great hike!

Great dog friendly trail! Ticks are coming out though!

Nice summer hike. Couple light elevation gains but nothing too strenuous. Suggest hiking earlier in day. Mid day is warm. Like previous reviews, great sample of multiple types of trails and verge. It’s all here. Beautiful views from multiple vantage points once you start climbing up. Some residential views but nothing to glaring. Lots of vistas and places to sit. Shade is limited. All in all, great hike and worth the effort.

Great trail to hike and get some trail running in! Amazing views of Escondido and fields of native plants. A range of small inclines/declines and rocky terrain throughout but not too intense!

There really isn’t any shade at all. I started the loop at 9 am and nearly gave myself heat exhaustion. I had plenty of water fortunately. I ended up no finishing the loop because I encountered a fairly large snake on the trail and opted to back track. If I do this trail again it’ll have to be early in the morning.

would recommend this trail, plenty of opportunity to take a shortcut back if 10 miles is too challenging. make sure to put on a lot of sunblock and bring lots of water cause not a lot of shade

Trails are in good condition with excellent signage at trail junctions. Great view of Escondido from the peak and Lord of flowers still in bloom. My favorite are the coast oaks that nature strategically placed at my hydration stops.

really liked this trail experience...hiked it but shared with mtn bikers. A lot of single track, rutted out areas. Did not see the rattlers discussed by others. Peak provided awesome views. Over pack water....gets hot on trail.

This trail is probably a lot of fun to run up hill of you're in good shape. I'm getting there so I ran part of it and as long as you pace yourself, it's a fun hike/run. I saw two rattlers and many, many flies. I did it in about an hour and a half because I stopped to take a lot of pictures.
