The best trail I've ever been on in my life! I was physically drained by the time I got to the Lake but the entire experience was amazing! It's well worth camping at the lake when you get there!

My family and our dog hiked this on Mother's Day. It was cool in the shade but warm in the sun, so layers were good. My kids are 8 and 11, and this was a very easy hike (I left my boots in the garage at home and did this in my husband's birks, 2 sizes too big). I will say that there are many trail junctions, so a map is necessary to know how to stay on the loop that you want.

The meadow was gorgeous and this is one of the most fragrant hikes I've been on in California (pines). We saw a handful of mountain bikers (which this trail is great for!) and a few walkers, but many long stretches alone. Overall, a very pleasant and peaceful walk.

Beautiful, sunny day today. Yellow, white, and purple wildflowers were in bloom. Ran into about a dozen people during the hike (mid-day), about 50/50 mountain bikers to hikers. Nice combination of exposed and limited shade. Very easy grade. Lots of birds - spring is in the air. Dry - bring water and chap stick. Wonderful, pine tree smell!

great trail, could wander around there all day! will definitely be going back to explore more!

Good fun, nice family hike. Nothing too crazy

Gorgeous trail, and it was easy enough to take two dogs and a stroller!

Had a blast, generally the trails were easy however there are moderate to difficult trails off the main loop. keep in mind this trail is in Cleveland National Park several thousand feet above sea level. there's a $5 entry fee (honor system) to enter the park and general parking is not well marked. the trail head sits at the center of a camp ground so I sort of made my own parking spot.

One of my favorite San Diego Trails. The loop around the meadow and the lake is beautiful.

Enjoyable hike. With the recent rain and snow (winter months) there was a fair amount of water on the middle bend; just a little pond. Going is pretty easy, all down hill. Coming is uphill, but not steep at all. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. The open planes are always nice to see when hiking this particular area of Laguna.

Done in March with not many people, not too hard mostly flat but beautiful, nice easy ride on single track.

An excellent hike for any skill level. I loved the different foliage all around. There are also several geocaches in the area which is fun if you're into that sort of thing.

This trail was classified as easy. It was all down hill to the lake (elevation change 135 ft) with 92 deep stairs. I did not consider it easy and would not go on this trail again. Also, the sign says no dogs, not even service dogs. No access for disabled.

barely half a mile after starting the hike, the trail was mostly covered in snow. May be a mile in, the trail opened up to a beautiful sunset view along with the gorgeous view of the valley. After which we took u turn to get back. no elevation for a mile or so.

Great trails. The big lake has water but the other ones are dry. Wonderful hike/trail run beautiful up here the weather is great.

Beautiful, easy hike!

The walk from the parking lot to the edge of the water is not really a hike but there are some trails that go along side the water. These trails are not well defined and some parts there are no pathways. They are mostly used by people fishing to find the right place to cast their line.

There is a great sunrise view on the highest point near the water but I had to hike through a lot of brush to get there

Nice & easy

Beautiful view of Downtown San Diego on this trail. Came across a bobcat on the trail near the lake. Busy trail as well with the mountain bikers.

Beautiful hike with not-too-strenuous of inclines. You could choose to take a shorter route back to the cars at multiple points throughout the hike. Some of the forks weren’t super clearly marked so having the app was handy. There is a fair amount of parking at the trailhead but I believe you need an adventure pass to park there which can be bought at the local convenience stores. Looked like a great trail to take dogs. I would highly recommend!

nice and easy

Cool area, low incline. Parking wasn’t obvious though, and lots of mountain bikers (campsite is right at start of trailhead).

We only walked about 10 miles. it has a fantastic meadow. There is water in 2 of the lagoons. The trail is narrow, and pretty flat.

Loved the hike!!! It was a beautiful day and the lake was so serene. Saw ducks, hawks and woodpeckers. Great way to start the day and it’s well marked so the loop was super easy to follow!

This was a great hike for our alternative Thanksgiving Feast. The hike is easy and a leisurely pace with plenty of stops for photos got us through the almost 6 mile loop in under 3 hours. There is a perfect picnic spot at the far end of the lake with plenty of shade and big rocks to sit on while you dine!

I started the trail at 7am... It was one of the best hikes I have done in San Diego! Great views, water, meadows people on the trail were experienced hikers, mountain bikers were courtious. All around awesomeness! My dog loved it too!

About a mile in you hit the private property of Vista Irrigation District. Also, the day I went, utility crews were working on the transmission power line poles and helicopters were helping. NOT peaceful at all.

Trail app doesn't tell you the parking lot for Lake access is closed Wednesday/Thursday. the only access to hike down to lake allowed is thru parking lot.
