Great hike with great views. The first part is very steep. There aren't any bathrooms along the trail. Well trafficed and maintained.

Perfect short hike and steep incline. Great for leg days! Plus the view! Better to head down the same way you came from. I went further and thought I could easier loop back, but I just ended in circle on the Panoramic.

Went on this trail this morning with my two dogs. The steep parts were killer, but doable. Got a great workout in. Half of the hike I only saw 1 person, but the beginning and end I saw tons of people, so if you’re looking to have quiet time, come early. I started at 8:45am on Saturday.

Really great hike except for the section after you reach Grizzly peak boulevard. It's hard to find the next section of the trail (you need to turn left at the end of the trail and walk along Grizzly peak to find the trail entrance) and then the next section is not well maintained. Also the trail is not well marked so have a map handy. If it wasn't for that segment, I'd rate this hike a 4/5. Great views.

We did the full trail and it's definitely a solid workout (some of the steeper climbs I've done). It looks us about 2.5hrs with some water breaks. Some shaded and some direct sun. Recommend plenty of water, bug spray, and suncreen. We also brought our pup who loved the climb as well and was off leash the majority of the time. Also definitely recommend solid trail shoes or hiking boots.

We arrived around 9am and had no issues with parking right at the trail head.

Steep and at an incline most of the way so wear shoes with good grips as it is slippery downhill. Offers great views of bay.

Be prepared. Just be prepared. It’s steep but rewarding!

It’s really steep, which makes the return trip (descent) a bit difficult. The majority of it is in the sun, with limited tree coverage, so be sure to wear sunscreen! I prefer some of the other fire trail hikes that are more wooded.

This hike is a nice representation of California. Know that this trail is legit hard. The uphills are steep and seemingly never ending. The views will provide just the right amount of distraction and reason to stop and rest. There’s also plenty of shady parts. It’s a bit tricky to follow the trail on the rebound. We got off trail, but plenty of cut overs were available. The trail also had quite a few benches, so take a lunch/snacks and enjoy the view! There’s a reason this is called a panoramic hike. You’ll have multiple views of Mt Tam, SF, Oakland and beyond.

Take plenty of water!

I love it. Will def do again. Lots of friendly pups and wonderful views. Beware of some steep hills!

I love this hike and have been back 4 times in the past 2 months. It’s about a 6.5 mile loop and the first half is all incline but you get some breaks in between each hill which helps. Be prepared for some rocky/gravel areas which can get slippery so wear good hiking shoes.

The second half of the hike is easy and you get even better views from the other side of the hill. Beautiful views throughout the trail. About half is covered. It can get pretty hot depending on the weather and the annoying flies come out.

bring your hiking shoes! very steep uphill/downhill. overall great trail, and beautiful views

Steep climb can be difficult when the gravel is totally dry and loose. Worthwhile views

Tough steep hills but overall great workout. Enjoyed the views but it was overcast so the clouds and fog covered the view of the city. Cool to be above the fog, though.

Amazing views. Yes the uphill is very steep and a bit of a challenge but so so worth it!! Definitely will be back

Great hike. Pretty steep in stretches, but the views are worth it! We went counter clockwise which seemed to be less intense.

One of my top favorite Bay Area hikes!

Great views and steep but there is no signage along the trails. Near Grizzly Peak the trail was covered with poison oak and overgrown so we turned around instead.

Overall nice trail for the good view and convenient/easy access. Definitely very good workout on the incline. Certain parts of the trail are too steep and slippery with loose dirt and rocks, so it may get unsafe if not wearing the right shoes. There were no signage along the trails and many many splits, making it a bit difficult to navigate without frequently checking the GPS on my phone.

Great, convenient hike! You get a solid workout from the steep climb, and the views are pretty nice.

Awesome hike, started counter clockwise, straight up first 1.3 Miles, then continued climb up to 2.7 Miles. It’s hard as described, if one starts clockwise then it’s less intense. Spectacular view of Oakland, San Francisco, Emeryville, Berkley, Richmond, Lafayette, and Moraga. Lot of wildflowers. 6.7 miles with elevation gain 1,667 feet.

As described, hard but rewarded with awesome views of Bay Area. Never imaged a trail like this will be nested in along those big mansions. The first 3 miles are hard, coming down is challenging too, hiking shoes are a must.

Overall it challenged me, and will do it gain on my next biz trip.

Great views and only 3 hard elevations

Do it! You will not be disappointed. Views are really great

one of my favs. great intense inclines and areas if flat and down hill parts. fantastic views and always a great hike in this area and on this trail !

Very scenic trail and a great workout. Went there by myself but if anyone needs company would love to go back :)

Awesome hike! challenging the whole time with amazing views to reward. definitely will be going back

Very scenic. Saw a sign about mountain lion but didn't see any. What a disappointment!

Hard. About a good 800ft elevation gain within the first .7 miles. Gorgeous view of the Bay Area. Wear trekking boots as the path is steep and slippery.
