Trail is overgrown can’t get through, look at photo I uploaded. All in all good trail just to walk on and enjoy the views.

I’m a big fan. My recommendation is going south on Bane Ridge and coming north on Side Winder!

Excellent trail early in the morning. Camp ground with restrooms half way.

Nice hike, just missed my turn to finish the diemer loop trail, but didn’t see anywhere to change direction other than walk straight. Some parts of hike are getting overgrown. I did see a tarantula as well as a rattlesnake.

I saw 2 rattlesnakes and a coyote. Great for bike riding or a big hiking group. For a small group definitely don’t recommend. I sure did not feel safe.

Went after 3pm and there were a few shade spots. The trail is quite easy but very overgrown in some sections. I took it all the way to the locked gate and did not go beyond before heading back. This is not a loop trail. I left wondering where the path behind the gate ends.

Saw 1 tarantula. Started at ridgecrest, got there around 6:45 am. Entire hike took about 2 hours and 30 minutes. If you have this app on while hiking, it’s very easy to follow the trail. Some ups and downs in the first quarter but relatively plane field after that. Would definitely recommend this hike!

Saw a tarantula

Go early morning! Nice and cool, and you get the hardest part out of the way.

The last time I stepped foot on the trail was on the long one, and it had not been properly treated. This time around, I decided to give the short loop a try, and what do you know? They cut down the weeds! This time around the first part of the trail was amazing. No bugs crawling all over me due to the overgrown weeds. I do recommend for sure!

Great Trail, open and views for miles of the hills!!

Too hot - not much shade - avoid this trail in summer

Hiked this from about 10:15-12:30 in the heat (b/t 90*-95*) and not much of any breeze. Whew! At least Bovinian is finally cleared of overgrowth.

From Rim Crest trail head, take South Ridge west to the Diemer downhill. At Telegraph Rd go west to the “closed” North Ridge trail head. Why it is closed is really anyone’s guess. The erosion is no worse than the rest of the trails in the area. It is slightly overgrown but not nearly as bad as Bovinian, San Juan Hill, or Raptor Ridge. I took North Ridge Trail east, past the Gilman turn-off, to Sycamore Trail and headed down to Telegraph Rd. I went west on Telegraph Rd and up Little Canyon back to South Ridge. I took South Ridge west back to Rim Crest for 10.6 miles and 1736 ft of elevation gain. I saw one rattlesnake, one gopher snake and no less than 15 tarantulas. Not a bad hike...
