Located on the San Diego Coast, which has been called the Riviera of the West, Cardiff State Beach has a gently sloping sandy beach with warm water. The site offers swimming, surfing and beachcombing. The park is open sunrise to sunset.

Fantastic walk on the beach ( including stairs up the cliff for some peak cardio). We went at low tide so we could walk in the water and view the tide pools. Definitely will do this again, only recorded some of my walk due to low battery. Visible evidence of the cliffs crumbling and property at the top very unstable. Be aware to stay away from the base of the rock wall.

Easy beach walk at low tide. Great place to walk at sunset.

Nice easy beach walk (or jog) on a wide expanse of sand during low tide (only). Check the tide table before going. Parking rates are $15 Friday-Sunday (all day) or $6 for the first 2 hours, then up to $15 Monday-Thursday. If you have the California Explorer Annual Day Use Pass, parking is free. Not crowded at all on a beautiful, sunny Saturday afternoon. Lots of surfers in the water too. Stay away from the cliffs. Many parts have fallen and are loose from the recent rains. No dogs.

Must go at LOW tide Beautiful walk

No dogs allows. ONLY possible at LOW tide!

Beautiful hike along the beach!

Good for an hour walk. Check the high tide!

Lovely stretch of beach with a few tide pools. Can’t get to Solana Beach with Dogs. There are roving rangers that will stop you.

Great beach walk. Make sure that you don’t go during high tide. Dogs are NOT allowed for the whole hike.

Can't really do it in high tides

Very easy and nice views.

Beautiful view along the beach.
