Nice approach, varied scenery and wonderful views at the top. Well worth every inch. Wonderful varied fungi along the way. Great little shop...found fresh garlic bulbs, fun gifts and a great shroom fold out chart. Definitely on my “do again list”.

GREAT Hike although I got lost for a few minutes.

Great hike! Thankful to have this app to guide us at the many forks in the path.

Great trail for hiking and mountain biking. If you are hiking, definitely be aware of mountain bikers coming around corners. This is a relatively easy hike in terms of grade, and the views from the top are worth it. We went dlightly off course, and followed a sign to "Lakeview Trail", which went up a much steeper grade for maybe 3/4 of a mile. Totally worth it!

Fun hike for our family, we took a few shortcuts to make it a 4 mile hike. Not too strenuous for our Michigan group experiencing this higher altitude.

Good hike and it is well marked. Nice forested area with several open meadows.

Absolutely beautiful. Loved everything about this hike. Trail was a bit harder than we expected mostly due to climbing hills and the elevation. My husband and I are very active but from below sea level altitude.

Did not follow this defined trail as it was hard to find it specifically. Lots of well marked cross country trails that were beautiful. I ended up hiking the lake view trail to TRT with AMAZING views. The cross country trails we generally snowy & icy, glad I had poles for safety. Will definitely return during non-snowy weather.

Slow uphill the way out which makes it a nice walk back. Great views of the lake the lower part of the walk. Lots of snow higher up on the trail but all easily passable. Overall great experience for a winter hike!

Great hike. Well maintained trail.

Great for kids!

Love the trails. Fun many ups and downs. Beautiful views and everything is great.

Love the down hill

Gorgeous forest, excellent trails (width of a narrow road, but surfaced like trails), nice little incline going in. Couldn't have been better. What could have been better were Google's directions. Simplify it: look for Tamarack Lodge on your left. Turn in and go left when the driveway forks. You quickly enter state park land. Drive about .2 miles to the iron gate. Park & go. I would go again tomorrow, and the next day!

This was a great trail but it definitely isn't an easy trail. The beginning is too steep for a teen beginner to ascend or descend. The first half is uphill. You can hear the creek for a mile or two but not really see it.

Good easy hike. Relatively flat. Did first week of June and there was still a considerable amount of snow on the trail but hikeable. Good views of meadows.

I expected more views but it's mostly Forrest view. There was one short part of the trail where you could view the lake through the trees. It was petty shady and that was nice. I did stop short of the top so don't know what the view may have been from there. It was pleasant. The only animal I sighted was two chipmunks! Glad I didn't see bears!

Great route for a relatively flat trail run

very well marked, map everywhere .

My kids and I had a nice time walking this trail. There were a few slight inclines, but nothing to difficult. There are trail maps along the way, so even though we didn't follow the route exactly we didn't get lost. At time we did see partial views of the lake & the forest is beautiful.

Super fun on a bike! Lots of quick and fast single track throughout the area. Pick and chose. Not technical or too hilly. Great way to get warmed up for harder trails. Maps and trail signs everywhere. Hard to get lost. I will be riding again soon.

Great trail. Constant uphill from town to trailhead (3miles), which was a pretty tedious cardio (for me at least) but once we were up on the dirt trails we had a blast! Tons of connector options that all lead into each other. Went up to the scenic overlook for great views. Well-marked along the trails, well maintained.

turn in just west of seeing the Tamarack lodge sign, and go back past the Tahoe Landscaping to find parking. We followed by the download, which means going up to the right as you face the hill. A shorter walk might start by going up the left side. Most of the elevation gain (total is 6300 start to 7000 top) happens in the first 10 minutes (and likewise at the end if you follow the 17 point download guide.

We enjoyed having the guide, and as this was our first EveryTrail guide ever, didn't realize the wealth of information and description in it. We took our own Garmin GPS along to WayMark each intersection...but the EveryTrail iPhone marking/tracing was fine...there was at least a minimum of AT&T 3G/E coverage on this trail.

The 'pond' by the dam (point 12?) is not that charming, but there are nicer meadow views and rocks to have a picnic further along the trail. THANK YOU for putting together the guide. Hope this stays a quiet park for a long time. We did pass a fair number of mountain bikers and a few other hiker/walkers...but in general, we had it mostly to ourselves.
