Fun hike. Challenging. The uphill route is steep and nearly vertical at points. The path is dusty, so it can be slippery. This is particularly important on the descent, where footing requires attention. The path is narrow, steep and the fall-off is sheer. The hike offers a great workout. No foliage, so bring sunscreen and a lot of water. The payoff is the walk to the crest of the hill - lovely oaks and a beautiful view. Bonus: we also met a bull! A longhorn that looked like "Ferdinand" come to life!

As much a climb as it is a hike. I would say it’s unique in that way as compared to most hikes in and around the area. Great views and certainly you get a workout on this one.

Loved the hike for the most part, but if you are afraid of heights this is not for you. I don't know exactly what my problem was (vertigo?), but certain parts were extremely anxiety provoking and had me hugging the ground. I stopped right before the last treacherous rock climbing section and did not make it to the top. I felt like a complete dork, but on the plus side I'm alive!!! lol. 5-star rating for the young who were climbing up like billygoats and I'm sure the view is out of this world.

Loved the views from the top. A bit steep, be sure to wear proper footwear with good tread.

This is a beautiful hike! It’s a bit steep, but as long as you take the Hills slow you will be fine. I have Done this trail two days in a row and boy I am definitely feeling it. My favorite part about this trail is that At the top there is a heard of cows! I gave one a bell pepper!

Incredibly fun and there was no other people on the trail. Hidden gem. Tons of scrambling opportunities, makes for a moderate-to-difficult hike depending on your capabilities. Last rock climbing portion is very dangerous and steep, however, and one slip could very likely result in serious injury or death. Do not summit unless prepared mentally and physically with proper shoes.

nice hike definitely not for beginners but doable

It’s a great hike that is a bit steep but not to the point where ruins the hike. Makes for a really good workout.

I can't believe this is classified as a Moderate trail, it's short but hard, with steep climbs.
Better go down slow too, slippery and if you make one bad mistake you could get hurt pretty bad or worse.
Saw lots of empty water bottles, wish I had a bag to pick them all up, never will understand how people can consciously throw their trash on the ground and feel ok with it.
Nice views.

Great hike that is somewhat technical so requires concentration while on ridges, climbing up the steep sections, and coming down those same steep sections. I was glad to have poles for the trek down! The swings on the tree at the top make for a nice, shady break before turning back and the views from up there are awesome (but Rocky Peak still my fave for Simi view).

Would rate it as difficult. Take your time so you don't fall.

Short fun hike. It's a fast climb in the beginning. Great workout. Take your time. Best views of Simi from the top! See our video.

The hike up is super steep and full of dirt so be prepared to get dirty! The climb up right before you get to the top is a literal rock climb, but isn't that bad. Once you get to the top, you can continue along the trail and there are two swings under a tree. THIS PART MAKES THE WHOLE HIKE WORTH IT! 10/10 would recommend!

Also:
-Hiking down is easier than the hike up, so don't be too worried once you reach the top
-There are tons of beetles at night, so be aware!

Great hike. Gets your adrenaline pumping. I had a little anxiety on the climb up. It's steep and slippery. Just don't panic and you'll be fine. Go all the way to the top where the trees are; there is a swing:) It isn't as bad on the way down. I slid on my butt. No shame in that! Take your time and go slow. Bring good hiking shoes and water.
