Hiked from Big Basin State Part parking lot to Waddle beach. Nice hike. Google map says 9 miles but it’s 11.1miles. All shaded until the last 0.75 miles.

Part of Dool Trail is closed off currently. So that adds about a mile or so. It’s closer to 8 miles total. Has a little bit of everything like sun, shade, inclines, & declines. A great day hike.

Very easy enjoyable trail. Takes you by some of the largest redwoods in the park!

Sequoia trail with many people heading to fall. Meteor trail is quiet with redwoods. Ocean view summit vista is fairly nice but biting flies.

Beautiful trail. Some open areas with no shade. Lots of bugs. Make sure to go to the ocean overlook toward the end after Meteor trail.

This was a fun outing! Detour for a large part of the Dool trail, onto the sunset trail, to access this hike, but definitely a great little outing!

Long strenuous climb up but rewarding at the top. Ate my lunch perched on a rock with the world at my feet.

I hiked it at the end of June. Lots of wide and flat ground, beautiful redwoods, some wildflowers, and creek with little bridges. Also some good places to step into the creek if you’re so inclined. I did have to contend with mosquitos. Sewer manholes along part of the way, which I think is the reason it was flat.

nice, well marked trail, great for kids

Such a cathartic trail. We were there on a Thursday in June, expecting tons of people, but passed only three other small parties outside a quarter mile of either end of the trailhead. Most folks tend to gravitate toward the falls which is great for those who want to take in the forest for the trees

Amazing short walk suitable for all ages and abilities as well as strollers. Awe-inspiring redwood trees!

Different terrains. The meteor trail is awesome! Very light traffic and you can hear your echo in the dense redwoods. Dont expect a great ocean view from the too though

Great trail to see Redwood trees. Across from headquarters where you check in and pay $10 for day use.

I will go back when it’s not a busy weekend during summer. Because the trail is next to a road, you hear and see a lot of cars. And, there were more people than we’d hoped. The platform at the falls was crowded. Nonetheless, my niece got a great long exposure shot of the falls.

Awesome, for my first time hiking far, this was fenomenal, I do have to say that I was expecting more things from it but its still turned out great, i loved how relaxing and easy the trail was, i would totally recommend this trail and will definitely hike it again

Nice trail with good amount of shade and pretty views. We saw a few snakes so watch where you step!

This is a really nice hike. Many different ecosystems. Very quiet (I did not see any other hikers o na Sunday)

Went "the right way" according to park volunteer up Dool and down Meteor. Beautiful hike through serene redwoods! The park was not busy on a Friday morning!

Bit of a strenuous hike as I took the Sunset trail to the falls and then back by way of Skyline to the Sea trail. This whole hike had many muddy parts due to rainfall two days prior but if you have the right shoes it’s all passable. Note that part of the Skyline trail is currently closed but detour signs are very visible. The area around the falls was quite crowded with other hikers. While I wasn’t surprised by this I was surprised at the number of people on a weekday afternoon. The falls are beautiful and worth the trip! Magnificent redwoods surround you on the entire hike. Big Basin generally feels a little over used though. The trails are well maintained but not especially pretty. $10 to park at HQ and the people are very helpful.....still wound up wandering around to find the trail head though. There’s a store, snack bar, restrooms, and gift shop located there.

Good trail. We went two days after a rain and there were 3 or 4 muddy sections with one being a bit dangerous. Bring trekking poles if this is your situation. Other than that, the trail was in good shape. We ended up walking back on the road next to the trail. The waterfall was running very well and there were a lot of people on the trail and at the falls.

Hardly a waterfall and you walk next to the road most the time

Really nice, mostly shaded trail that's not too tough and well kept. There's no big view though due to the forest. There was also a lot of water in the streams, but I'm guessing that dries up later in the summer. I went on a sunny Saturday in mid-May yet, for some reason, the trail was almost empty. I was expecting it to be really crowded as this park is typically very popular.
