HikingFeeGreat!

This was a great trail and had directional arrows for COVID safe hiking. Not too populated. Great variety and hooks up with the waterfall trail.

Pretty flat trail all along, except 5min short steep section. It is chill hike, fully shaded

Amazing trail with lots of shade. Tough incline in the middle of the trail but the timing is just right. One of my favorite trails ever.

I went here before it's closed by the fire, it was super nice with shades and huge trees. Check out my video, you can see what to expect on this trail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0xjyf6XYxU

We love this easy stroll through 10 little stops that displayed some of the largest and oldest redwood trees. The Mother of the forest is 1500+ years old. Pretty cool. Definitely a must see in Big Basin.

I love this hike. It is definitely not easy, so expect some tough rocky spots especially toward the end. I got to the trail head about 20 minutes after Big Basin opened and didn’t see a single person on my way up. I recommend going early because the latter leg of the trail is uncovered and sunny. I’ve done this hike a few times—sometimes the peak is sunny, other times windy and foggy. Bring layers!

beautiful stroll for the first part of the hike...the second half is much more strenuous and completely worth it. my boys and I did it in 2.5 hours with a stop at the top to soak it all in.

Easy, shaded, mainly flat hike through the trees. Operating counter clockwise only due to covid. Saw a surprising number of people not wearing any masks.

HikingGreat!

One of my favorite hikes so far. Gorgeous trees provide shade for the majority of the hike. Fallen trees provide a bit of adventure, as does trekking up slippery rock (good workout there). No panoramic views, but the sequoias make up for it imo. $10 for parking. I went on a weekday around 1pm and did run into other hikers and families, but wasn’t too bad. Truly gorgeous and fun.

Hiking

The views along the trail are moderate, several encounters of the redwood tress and small creeks. Less impressive compared with the Dipsea trail at Mt. Tamalpais. The ocean view summit is mediocre. The hike is an easy one and probably a good practice for the beginners, but do not expect to see interesting views.
