I'm not sure how people are saying this is loud friendly. It was incredible rocky, rutted, and narrow trail. Very little to no shade. No views or if there were I didn't notice because I really had to watch where I was going due to the rockiness.

As other reviewers have stated this trail is very rocky. Can be unstable if you’re trail running. This is one of my favorite hikes to listen to motivational videos to.

This was my first official hike in lower Bidwell! The terrain is very accessible to people with some mobility challenges!

HOT! 100* + when I did it, went through 3L of water like nothing...just be prepared. Great hike though.

I really enjoyed myself being by the water was epic so much beauty to take and and appreciate I absolutely enjoyed the whole adventure

nice wide clearly marked trail great for hiking and trail running. loose rocks so be careful. I have run it 3 weeks in a row now.

It’s not a hard hike, but there wasn’t much shade until the route back. I’d recommend the hike only if you are starting early in A.M.

Lots of volcanic rock along the trail, ended up looking down for foot placement more than I was expecting. Very little shade, got quite warm in the afternoon. Saw an ambling coyote who didn’t seem to care about my presence. Drank about 2.5 liters of water.
