Did part of this trail for a morning walk. Lots of birds including pelicans, a blue heron, geese, and ducks. Very pretty

Call me crazy, but with the air traffic, 101 freeway noise, and construction vehicles parked about- this trail was far from tranquil. The pros: adequate public restroom and abundant wildlife. There are far better trails if you want to forget you’re near one of the largest US cities.

Nice trail. Saw lots of birds and a beautiful rainbow!

Nice trail for biking or hiking. Relatively flat. Dog friendly

Took my dogs out for a hike, decent views with cool wildlife. Be prepared to bring some water if you do the full loop. Could've probably brought a travel bowl for my dogs, had to make more rest stops than usual due to the direct sunlight. Hats and sunscreen are a must if you burn easily. Overall a good flat hike/walk for some warm bay breeze, sun, and exercise!

Fun walk. Lots of plants and birds are aplenty. You can get great bird photos. Note that doing the full loop makes you walk along a street that is adjacent to the 101.

I made this a circular route and so a small section was alongside, but not immediately adjacent to, the highway.
The bay area is beautiful with abundant bird life and friendly hikers.

A leisurely walk with little incline, the distance is long enough to feel like it's good for your health. Whatever sky you see that day reflects beautifully off the waters!

Beautiful blue water, calm and cold breeze and hot sun, fabulous long walk and sights to see at every turn.

Actually, it is possible to do a 6 mile loop all around the palo alto baylands. You'll come across lots of runners, bird watchers, and families on bikes. On weekdays a convalescent home brings a bunch of old folk out for a walk. This park is accessible by Shoreline, the parking lot near the Palo Alto airport, or there is a path under 101 off of E. Bayshore near the business complexes.

There isn't much shade and it could get dusty during a hot day. Sometimes the smell of pollen or bird poo gets strong in places.
