Perfect day for a hike. Our goal was to get to the quarry but we passed it. So if that’s where you’re going, look for the sign that says “climbing trail”.

Really crowded and tough to find parking but the trail was surprisingly open for the amount of people out.

Pleasant hike, although mostly on a gravel road. Not topographicly challenging. Recommend fall through spring.

Good trail, easy parking ($10 or poppy pass), lots of restrooms. We didn’t see any animals but lots of signs about them. Really enjoyed seeing the history of the quarry along the trail. I took a few first-timers on this hike and they loved it!

This trail loop is beautiful. Lots of trees and moss, but I imagine it’s more dry and less green in summer. There’s lots of different terrain and multiple creek crossings where we saw some salamanders. There are a few places where the trail splits with no clear trail markers and there’s no phone service so make sure you have the map saved. There’s extremely limited parking but it wasn’t very busy today (a Monday morning). Also, TONS OF TICKS. My brother and I pulled at least 12 ticks of of each of our dogs and a few off our own legs. Wear pants and if you bring your dog make sure they’re on prescription tick prevention and check them well afterwards.

This is such a beautiful area that we had to come back for a second week, but we chose a different trail than last week. I enjoyed this hike because it is such a gorgeous environment and you get a great workout with the terrain! I highly recommend this hike and this area! Now we are going to find a trail that allows us to make it to the river!

HikingFeeGreat!

Hiked this yesterday and it was a perfect blend of a great afternoon, beautiful scenery, a decent sweat, great fresh air, feeling safe, perfect length for individuals or families. This was a federal holiday, so it was rather busy with folks, but that's to be expected. If you want a less traveled experience, go during a weekday and if it's a hot summer day, go early morning. For being so close off the highway and close to the town of Auburn, this can probably still be labeled as a hidden gem to most people. It has a good mix of wide open paths to share with mountain bikes and some areas where technical footing with rocks & dry dirt is required. Kids could totally do this, but there are a few little areas to be careful. A great trail to make for a great day!

There was a sign posted about a 1/2 mile from the end of the trail that warned of an agressive animal in the area.

Definitely my top trail so far. Wish the markers were better because it’s hard to figure out where you’re going sometimes which has led to a lot of back tracking and taking different trails. The views were everything and even got some rain. Highly recommend.

Great trail with beautiful scenery, beware there are a lot of horseback riders! But relatively easy elevation peaks and clearly defined trails
