Love the river next to the trail.

I started from the dam and found a very overgrown trail (difficult to follow) that followed Lake Clementine’s edge. Keeping the lake to the left of me and following the shore, I ended up at the end of this trail, then hiked up and out on the trail road and made a huge loop back to the dam.

I think this is the hike that I went on recently based on the pictures people have posted. Was not expecting Clark's Hole but it was a pleasant surprise. There's a rock you can jump off of, just be careful because it's slippery. The swimming hole is really deep. Where we were wasn't much space but I think the "beach" stretches out a long the trail (we heard people talking when we were back on the trail walking towards the falls further away from where we had been). There's also fish in the water, so don't be surprised if a trout (?) wants to say hey when you have your feet in the water.

it's a pretty good trail but plain, a few places to see but as a workout is pretty good.

in fact it's a pretty easy hike, little but steady elevation no real effort needed, got a few spots you can check out while you follow the trail. pretty crowded.

Beautiful views of river and forest hill bridge.

This was a beautiful hike but the trail was so confusing at the beginning. We got lost n it took us over 10 miles from start to finish. We were able to find the River n the swimming hole. I would love to go back again but I’m not sure if I’m able to find the river the next I go. It was a good hike overall. We had lots of fun.

I would rate it as moderate not hard.

Easy hike, watch out for mountain bikes.

fun, easy hike.

Not dog friendly at all. Routes are super narrow and covered with ticks and thornbushes. Removed close to 60 ticks over 3 hours. Definitely will not do again

Ticks and relatively boring hike. This trail is actually not the Olmstead loop either. I was midway through the hike and realized I’ve been following Olmstead loop and not the AllTrails outlined loop.

Waterfall at the end of the trail makes it all worth it, trail runs along the river with great views, fairly easy trail well well worth the hike

Good hike. You feel that work out.

Great trail. Things I wish I knew: I suggest taking one of the routes closest to the water on your way out, then taking the highlighted route back. Great views by the water and also makes it a little more interesting. You can dip in the water if you want. Also, there were a few more interesting rocky areas (very short) where you had to climb a little.

There are some areas, maybe 20-30%, that are wide open in the sun and on a wide trail (which I disliked). But this was only a minor inconvenience. Bring lots of water - I went through all 3L on a sunny day.

Watch out for poison oak at the very beginning!

All worth it! Beautiful Waterfall View at end of hike! It was not too hard. Fairly moderate hike. Don't forget to bring water & snack. But a few biker speeders who zoomed past by us and created a super duper road dust all over. Not cool. Otherwise it was an awesome trail.

Great hike for the kids. Trails are very clean and safe for kids to walk on.

beautiful view of running dam at end of trail; close access of its not busy.

mostly wide paths. uphill on the way to the dam, downhill on the return, except for the paved part right before the dam (about .25 miles).

Auburn national park is a great place for outdoor easy peasiness.

Great trail with somany other trail routes to take. Go early in summer, not much shade in parts. Bring dogs and snacks, picnic bench along the way. Dog friendly, horse friendly, run friendly, 79% bike friendly.

Had a great time on this trail. Some areas are not covered very well but other spots are super dense. However not all of the areas were open this time around due to bird nesting. This was my first time going, I really wanted to see the cave but when I got there the cave was blocked off with giant cement blocks

What a lovely nature hike this trail was! The trail is easy to lose, and my husband and I found ourselves turned around here and there, but it was in those moments that we stumbled on a lizard, a garter snake, a turtle poking its head out of a lake, a gorgeous lakeside trail, puddles full of tadpoles, and the sweetest duck couple paddling through what looked to be a small man made canal. There’s little ponds and streams everywhere and two big, gorgeous lakes, all teeming with various creatures. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this much life on a hike actually. And the hills are rolling with greenery and wildflowers. Really enjoyed this hike!

Great starter hike with excellent view of the dam. Bring your snorkel gear and walk down to the river for a refreshing swim before you head out.

It was definitely not a moderate trail, but hard. Like other comments it’s a steep going down with having to cross, streams, boulders & logs. It was gorgeous though

Beautiful scenery!

Great hike! I took my dog for a nice long walk today, it was fun to explore all the trails, weather was perfect, cool breeze kept us from sweating too much. Take lots of water!

I was here on a Tuesday so I pretty much have the entire trail to myself. The trail itself is not bad, but there's no destination point, which I find disappointing. It's just a lot of walking along the river. The climbing area is nice though. I would just end the hike there in the future.

Nice wide trail to walk on and to move outta the way if you do see people, bikes, or horses. The up and down of the hills helps work a variety of muscles so no single group feels overworked. I had to take a few breaks to catch my breath going up on a couple but it was easy most of the time. It’s beautiful and peaceful. We found old foundation where a settlement used to be about a mile in to the right before you get to the fork to Rattlesnake Bar. Lots a poison oak all around the trails so be on the lookout.

Very dope views of the river, we will be coming back soon.

The trail is a lot longer than it says. Loved the hike. The trail is very confusing at times. Just get lost in the adventure, you won’t regret it! Just be careful of ticks.
