Rode my Africa twin and almost die due twice because of dune buggy that going 40+mph through corners.
Highly recommend to remove ear protection on this trail, look out for mountain biker going +40mph downhill, lookout for slow moving vehicle when speeding through the downhill.

More easy than moderate, mostly needs high clearance though X4 is useful at the start.
It's "OK" but not worth going out of your way for, we turned back after a while as it was a little boring compared to the good off-road viewing options.

We didn't see anyone on a weekday.

Nice Sunday drive with plenty of great photo opportunities.

I hiked this trail and I have to say the climb to the trail at the top was very steep indeed. Certainly no fun to come back down. The trail at the top is really nice though. Great views.

pretty nice and mellow trail had a driver with stock Nissan Pathfinder that's the reason to visit this trail but it was fun on labor day.

It was my first experience intentionally off roading, however, I have driven off road before when on the beach or looking for trails. This was no different. I had a blast even though it was easy. The scenery changes the higher you go. I made it all the way to the top and back down in about 4 hours with regular photo stops in my stock 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Got my pass at the OHV office in Glendora and drive up. You need a permit to go up (it’s free) and a code will be provided to you to unlock the gate entrance. I went up on a Tuesday for sunset and was the only vehicle up there so I had a blast.

I completed this endeavor with a stock 4runner ORP. 4x4 is a must, along with some rock rails due to the terrain. This was my first true off roading adventure and might have been too technical. IMO, you need a lifted rig and some experience.

Minus the toughness of the trial, it was a great adventure and is a recommended drive!

Ease and not much traffic.

Great trail for any beginner. Got our pass at the ohv and headed up. Great views at the top.

If you want to go up the mountain around to view the lake you will need a 4x4 with good tread on your tires. Not necessarily a lift kit but traction is key on this trail.

Multiple wondering options to get lost in but follow the directions and take the last turn down to the left. Looks sketchy but that’s where the trail starts.

Super chill & scenic trail. Took my stock 2016 Crosstrek up there as my intro to off road/trail riding.

Easy trail. Great wildflowers while we were there (Early June 2018). Most vehicles could do this trail. We climbed right up it in our stock 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.

this is a great skill builder trail for those getting into 4 wheeling. the steep technical climbs are mild and keep you enjoying the trail. mid way there is a sketchy hill climb option that has 4 paths up. the 2 center being the most rutted out and will require lockers to get through. this can be bypassed of course. towards the top there is a rock crawling obstacle for those that want to test their rig and their skill. I had no problems with my jeep wrangler. from the top, you can loop back down, or continue trail to the reservoir. i have done both and prefer the continue to the reservoir as now the descends are technical but not too extreme.

Nice views along this trail walking along the river with waterfalls and decent tree cover. Pretty good trail for backpacking but probably better suited for bike- packing. The hike is all on a road so it’s pretty tough on the feet with a pack. That’s the only ding. Otherwise, it’s a surprisingly well set up camp with fire rings and charcoal grills (though fire restrictions prevented use). The stream/river along the whole hike is a huge plus. At least when I went, there was plenty of water available. Some fishing if you can fly fish, but catch and release. Not a whole lot to see otherwise but a decent outing.

The wife and I hiked in little over 3 miles to the handicap fishing platform. We also checked out future fishing holes in the river and decided we will definitely be coming back with fishing poles in hand.

Great views, good climb, definitely wouldn’t call it hard. Fun, fast, sweeping turns on the downhill.

Really fun but did not go the entire way as it would take a bit of time. A lot of great spots with different challenges and some great views for a picnic. We went during the week and only ran into a few others but otherwise it was very quiet.

Excellent trail! Starting at the bottom and driving north had some steep inclines. Got lost around the top and found another easier trail back to the start making a loop. Cool rock formations near the start. Overall, great views. North end has some rocky areas but all the roads are pretty wide. I’d give it a 5 if I was actually able to complete it without getting lost.

This is a nice super easy trail to begin with not much of a view but still a nice way to get away

I don't get the hard rating this trail has been given as it's pretty straightforward though can be slow after the winter rains.

Rode my bike in , wow the views are amazing. You quickly forget how close you are to the city. The road is easy to navigate. Very well maintained and clean. Great fishing opportunities throughput the entire trail. . The camp is great , water is everywhere, shade . Restrooms and trash service. Will definitely come back again and again. Super easy and fun hike or bike, all skill levels.

Easy fire road traveling to the top of mountain.
Lunch at the top enjoying beautiful views.

I ride my dual sport here often, the tail is easy but beware of the steep drops on the side. Ride carefully! You will need a permit to ride or drive here so stop by the San Gabriel OHV area on Sat/Sun and register (its free). With registration you get access to the gate for two weeks before needing to re-register

Very easy 10 mile trail to do. The best view is at the end of the trail where there is a closed gate and you must turn back around. Must get a permit from the Glendora Ranger Station to get the lock combo to the gate. I would rate it 5 star if it wasn’t because you have to turn back around. Please don’t liter and help keep these trails clean for everyone’s enjoyment.

Fun skill building hills and trails. 4x4 with lift and rear lockers recommended. Great scenic views and technical uphill climbs.

Went up last night around 10pm during high gust winds in a 1997 Subaru Outback Sport. car is pretty much factory, on 17" Legacy Wheels and worn Factory Michelin Tires. As stated, trail is closed about 10miles in but still a decent trail for beginners and non-lifted vehicles. Might rate higher once we get a chance to try out the rest of the trail when the gates open up!
