Get there early. You will have to park on the street and the later you get there the further you will park from the trailhead. It’s a beautiful hike but it can get packed and the trail is well maintained but narrow. We hiked up to the hotel remains and I regret not taking the extra time to take the detour to inspiration point. Next time!

beautiful trail, Good climb as soon as you leave the car. we had a casual pace and made it up in an hour, had a picnic at the edge of the PCT and back down to the car in 45 minutes. I would recommend this trail

Just did a Mother’s Day hike with my kiddos and hubby. Pre-purchased a parking pass from Big 5. Arrived around 2:30pm and got lucky with a great parking spot. Beautiful scenery and easy hike with a cool little waterfall at the end. There’s a lot of cute old cabins through out the trail too. Hardest part but not that hard was walking up the hill back to the car.

One of my favorites. Consistent elevation gain, gorgeous views sunrise or sunset. Gets busy, so time accordingly.

This was a great short hike. It was raining in Azusa today but fortunately when we got to the trailhead it stopped raining. It's uphill most of the time but still pretty easy. The tunnels are so interesting but extremely dark so make sure you have a headlight or flashlight. It was also very lonely so I would recommend going in a group just as a precaution. Don't forget a parking pass!

the hike to the top is all uphill and there's not much shade but when you get there it's worth the hike

This trail is beautiful but belongs in the moderate difficulty category. Steep grade all uphill to the top. Rocky narrow path that can be tough for children.

Great hike. Started at 6:00am on Sunday morning and had shade all the way up and down from Echo Mountain. Narrow and winding trail with good inclines. A bit crowded but everyone I came across was courteous.

Only worth it if there has been good amounts of rainfall

this was even prettier than the time before Birds everywhere we found a salamander and a lot of friendly people and the hike is relatively easy

Easy hike and a cute little waterfall at the end.

Narrow winding trail with steep incline makes for great workout, 2-3 hours up and down. Amazing views of San Gabriel valley and City. Best views and photos at peak. Wild flowers bloom in the spring. Arrive early to avoid crowds and heat. Plenty of neighborhood parking. Gets hot in the summer.

Cool and relaxing hike with a beautiful waterfall at the end.

nice trail. great views when it is not smoggy. start early or after sunset as most of trail and summit do not provide shade. trail is very dry and dusty as well. no water or restrooms available either. very nice trail overall.

Great hike with beautiful views. We made sure to go to both peaks since the trail doesn't go all the way to Thunder Mountain peak. There is an elevation sign there right near the top of the slope and it's a great place for pictures. I was having a rough day so it was a little harder for me then usual, but for my sis it was a breeze. We clocked it at a little over 13 miles.

Moderate hike with some great views.

straight good point too hike

Great as a trail run, if a little steep to run on the way up.

Great trail, decent work out & pretty well trafficked. Better than I expected. Recommended!

Hot bring lots of water leave early. Uphill most of the way to the tunnels great hike also sunscreen is a must

This has become one of my favorite hikes. it's very much on the side of the road. The trail leads you down hill into a very forested area. It runs a long a stream most of the time, and you'll have to cross is multiple times as well. it's like an obstacle course in some parts. Very fun. Highly recommended.

Great views in all directions! The trails are steep and narrow at times, but very well kept. Echo mountain is a cool historic site, but I chose to walk back to the junction about 50 yards and continue on to Inspiration point which added about an
hour, but certainly worth it. Prepare for little shade along the entire trail.
Parking is free from 6am-8pm on the street adjacent to the trailhead

The views from this trail are amazing! Like others have mentioned, the trail itself is quite narrow. When you pass other hikers, you have to stand to the side because of this, but it’s general hiking etiquette anyways. I passed almost 20 other people on the trail on a Friday morning, so I can imagine weekends get crowded. There were quite a few benches on the way up, and lots of picnic tables at the top of Echo Mountain.
Parking was manageable even though I came later on a Friday morning. There are no restrooms at the trailhead, so take care of that before you arrive. I’m a medium paced hiker and it took me about 2 hours to complete (including taking pictures and taking a short rest at the top). I’ll definitely be back with friends!

this hike was stunning The Greenery was unbelievable and the waterfall was the Coupe de gras an easy hike it's a must for beginners we will definitely come back again

Great hike. Great view. Thanks to the fella that left a midweek hiker pin at the top. Cheers!

Great hike the only down side is that parking is very limited especially on weekends, get there by 6!

Great hike , get there early parking is limited. We parked 1/4 mile down hill. Mostly shaded hike, not much to the waterfall. The last part of hike coming back is all uphill so be prepared. Will definitely be back.

I was wrong! Just a short walk to the store and the Goats! Then on to the falls. Happy
