Worth checking out if you’re at pinnacle state park!

I took the base loop around the North side of the mountain. Very fun, do bring ample water in hotter weather.

Pretty easy hike. Beautiful views:)

Perfect trail for beautiful views of Pinnacle Mountain. I highly recommend taking this trail all the way to the east quarry trail.

This is a very beautiful trail. Going up the east side can be a little intimidating for some. Just take your time and rest as needed. Going down the west side is super easy and we seen more people once on it. Finishing by hiking around the base trail back to the parking lot was very casual.

Great! Beautiful views on the East Quarry spur along with some old yuccas, daffodils, summer snowflake, and prickly pear cactus!

Over 3 days , dave Boclair and I hiked 33 miles from hwy 7 to hwy 9. Slept in oak mountain shelter and brown creek shelter. Shelters were fantastic. Especially in rain. I really did not have to carry or set up tent. So much elevation change. Nothing is flat. Some water especially in low areas. Saw deer turkey and squirrels. Trail was well marked and logical.

This is NOT a moderate trail. It most
Definitely needs to be marked as hard. But it was an awesome trail!!! Would not recommend to kids under 12!

Windy day yesterday. Lots of thorn bushes but challenging hiking!

Beautiful views and nice trail. A few sections of the trail are pretty rocky, but other than that it’s great for trail running.

Great and challenging trail! I enjoyed the east summit as I was especially surprised by how steep the incline was and the need to climb/boulder my way up. The boulders are extremely smooth at certain points making it difficult to grip with the nike combat boots I wore. Had I known about this I would had made a different choice with my footwear.

1st hiking trip. loved climbing to top of cliff. will bring paddle boat next time.

great Trail for a slow easy walk did get to see a baby cottonmouth. as I approach the little guy stood his ground did not back down until I walked away

Great trail with a mix of elevation changes and scenic vistas.

The kids really loved this one.

Love this trail, great views.

What a great trail! It's easy enough for most to complete but there are some extended hill climbs that may be difficult for some. The views are awesome!

Love this trail - good views, great forest, and good work out.

Lots of good climbing oppurtunities on the east side. The west side has a nice, long scrambling slab in the "9" section. Very fun.

Great place! Went here yesterday with my mom for my 21st birthday! Had awesome hike with very few people on the trail! Took us about hour and half to do the hike, but you can do it in less time because we stop and went of trail to look at the lake. I will be going again when I'm back in town.

Great trail! We hiked from Horsetheif Picnic Area to Lake Wilhelmina Vista, stayed in a couple of shelters, and set up camp in the woods 1 night. The trail is generally well maintained and easy to follow, though a little overgrown in some areas. Water availability was not an issue on this portion of the trail but I'm sure it could be in the summer.

in the area that the trail hits the Kimichi River there are 7 different crossings for which water shoes are recommended. I'm sure water levels vary seasonally but in March it was just high enough to require taking your shoes off to cross, kinda a pain to do 7 different times. Would've been great if I had my water sandals to wear through that whole portion of the trail. It's a beautiful part of the trail.

The shelters on this path are pretty awesome. I recommend staying at one if it fits your schedule. On the Ok side of the portion of the trail there were primitive campsites set up on level ground with sitting rocks and rock fire rings every couple of miles.

All and all, this is a great long dostance trail and I will definetly be back!

This is a great little trail that is often overlooked by park visitors. The main loop trail is paved and wheelchair friendly and takes the visitor through the different types of trees and shrubs from the different regions of Arkansas. There are also several short (0.2-mile) natural surface trails for the slightly more adventurous. Although this trail isn't as exciting as climbing to the top of Pinnacle Mountain, I think it is a great little walk in the woods.

The park offers many different programs and special events on the Arboretum Trail. I attended what the park called the "Owl Prowl" on this trail and loved it. The park ranger has recordings of owl calls and plays them over a speaker at/after dark. I couldn't believe how many owls we saw and how quiet the owls are in flight. I highly recommend that you check into the park's program - they are usually very good.
