Awesome trail, beautiful forested trail along Creek. , lots of big rocks and spectacular waterfall in natural rock amphitheater. Definitely worth the hike and mid-May was perfect time to see the falls at their best.

it was good going down the trail through the lodge. but coming up it almost killed me.

A great hike with amazing scenery

Harder trial, beautiful!

I couldn’t really see any of the Indian writings, but the trial was very nice.

It was a very busy trial, try to avoid during the weekends. Had a beautiful waterfall though!

In my opinion, this is the most beautiful trail in the park. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the views!

Getting to the falls is a beautiful stroll. Hanging out among the falls and trees are magical and a great green rest. The last 500 ft back up at the end of the trail is the hardest part.

Well marked. Natural Bridge. Small waterfall if there has been rain. Caves. Lots of rocks for kids to climb and explore. Very gradual elevation changes (unlike Smokey Mts). Several creek crossings and place to “rock hop,” so not just another meandering trail through the woods. IMO this is the best trail at Petit Jean State Park. We hike it every time we come camping here. I highly recommended everyone try this trail. Both young and old can walk this 4.5 miles if they just take it slow and enjoy themselves.

Outstanding trail! I did this one earlier this month with Memphis Outdoor Adventures. I would definitely do it again!

The trailhead sign says 4 hours. We got out in 4 minutes under that, even with the side trip to the grotto falls and a lunch break, so I would say the time estimate is spot on.

Great trail! Definitely worth the hike.

Lots of streams flowing now and weather was perfect. A cool trail!

I really love this trail. Traveling from Hot Springs, it is close enough to make a full day out of it! I've completed this trail once, and I am going back Wednesday to do this trail plus some more! Also, this definitely is closer to 13 miles instead of the 8 stated above. The steepest parts are around the 4-5 mile marks!

Excellent trail. The 95 ft waterfall puts an exclamation point on the hike.

Very scenic!

The way back up is pretty tough but the view is well worth it!

Great trail. Lots of elevation change so be prepared. There’s a geocaching place a bit off the trail. I recommend taking your time to explore and climb rocks around the trail, especially the natural bridge! Very fun and several scene changes from rocks to woods which kept things interesting. Well marked and I appreciate the mile and half mile signs.

Nice scenic short hike

Short easy, enjoy the petroglyphs

Enjoyed the hike, packed a lunch and ate at the Grotto.

Great hike

We loved this trail! We went in the winter so we had the whole trail to ourselves and the waterfall was beautiful! You hike down to the waterfall, so the most strenuous part is the hike back. We will definitely go again!

Pretty hike and well marked. The natural bridge was beautiful and the grotto was worth the extra half mile there and back. All in all I would say it’s worth spending a few hours there! There are a lot of stream crossings so be prepared for that. My only ONLY complaint is how everyone pronounces the name!! For those thinking it pronounced like the French, you would be wrong! Even though it’s named after a French women and the nick name is French, everyone says “petty jeen” what the heck?! :)

Beautiful falls but a lot of people after the rains.

One of the very best hikes in central Arkansas. With a natural bridge, grotto and waterfall, and beautiful hardwood forest with rock bluffs and small caves!

We hiked after a rain so it was a little more challenging but the beauty surpasses the challenges! So worth it!
