Beautiful! The inclines were definitely challenging but the rest of the hike was flat-ish. Missed a turn somewhere and ended up having to walk through town to find a trail again. Started out on Gulpha Gore then to Sunset and then veered off to Mountain something and then ended up in town. Crossed the street and did Dead Chief’s which was probably the steepest part of the whole trail! I am exhausted! Well worth the hike though. Ended up at about 13.5 with the missed turns.

This was a good trail for beginners. I took my 9yr old and she loved it. Will do again and bring my dog.

Not much for scenic views but a nice trail. About a quarter mile in I startled a white-tail doe which was fun.

We used this trail from the campgrounds to connect to get to Hot Springs Mountain trail so we could climb to the top overlook. This trail was in good shape but for a out of shape novice hiker it felt pretty steep though with switchbacks the grade was never too much. Just mostly constant increase in elevation. No real scenic views on this trail but that was okay since we were using it to connect and get to the top.

Technically the trail is not difficult but the constant elevation change makes it challenging. The trail is mostly shaded but still very hot and humid so bring plenty to drink. I actually did an extra 1/2 mile hoping to find balanced rock but didn’t.

Really enjoyed this hike. Was shaded but still able to feel the breeze. Beauty all around. Our dog loved it! Even saw wildlife.

A great hike, lots of loose rocks on the west mountain. But the opposite side the trail was flat and easy to walk. The sunset trail was not easy to identify at many points as signs were missing, partially gone or all together confusing were to go. There's a point where you can take fork either way... highly suggest the less traveled, rustic path, better scenery and views plus the path is more of a hike then the flat manicured path.

My favorite trail in Hot Springs National Park!

We entered from Bathhouse Row, between the two eagle columns. Gives you kind of a royal flourish to begin your journey. All uphill but you're there before you know it. Then we paid our $5 (with National Park Pass) to walk up all 8 flights of stairs of the 185-foot tower. You have the option of taking the elevator, but you just hiked up the hill so why not finish the job? Plus the interior of the observation deck had great air conditioning and a water fountain at the gift shop at the base. ProTip: To maintain the spirit of the Hot Springs, I filled my bottle with the free 143° spring water at the tap to the right of the bathhouses; by the time I reached the summit, it was cool enough to drink. Warm, but drinkable. I'm weird like that.

by far the was my favorite scenic spot in hot springs that i had time to visit. being from NY you would think it was late april but it was 1-29-19. most of the time i love meeting people on a trail but here sitting on this rock i was glad nobody was around. i spent an hour here just enjoying the peace, our star and all of god's creations.

1-29-2019, i did this trail because i didn't want to drive up to the tower and the 1920's gazebo. very nice short walk (trail 4 stars). the gazebo was totally awesome and views were nice. the tower looks really cool. once i got in the tower pass the gift shop i started to notice how unloved the tower was. stained ceiling titles, old dirty carpet and rusted benches with mildew water around them. the tower needs a face lift and a badly remodel. i hate giving low reviews. i get no pleasure out of it. the views from there made up for it. i don't think i'll be back but all in all i was glad to be there once.

Very nice trail with a decent moderate challenge. Went from the top down to the creek and spent a few hours letting kids swim.

My favorite trail in the National Park. From the parking lot, head back toward the mountain tower and you will immediately see the trailhead. The trail will “Y” shortly after you start. Go to the right and you’re on the trail. There are many nice scenic views along the way. The trail takes several switchbacks as you make your way to the “Goat Rock” overlook. The terrains is pretty rocky in spots along the way. There are some rock formations you can easily climb as well. Once you reach the overlook the trail goes .2 mile and ends in the Gulpha Gorge Trail. If you want to extend your hike you can continue or backtrack and take the Lower Dogwood Trail that you saw at the “Y” in the beginning.

Easy trail, a bit slippery after a little rain. Very green, forested area, watch out for spider webs and snakes across the trail. Muggy weather conditions make you sweat for sure! (I suggest wearing contacts so your glasses don’t fog up, this was incredibly frustrating). Really neat view at the top, worth the hike up!

Plenty of ticks on this trail. A couple of areas had steep climbs on loose rocks, but not too difficult. Some cutout areas would be nice, so the views could be enjoyed. The trail markers are hard to see sometimes and starting out on Central Ave can be a little confusing as the trail isn’t easily identified. Great trail for a long walk.

Beautiful area in the Hot Srpings National Park. We first walked up the tower and enjoyed the views. The trail actually starts directly behind the tower and immediatley leads into the woods descending down quickly towards the Promenade Trail. After enjoying Bathhouse Row, i returned back to the trail. The quick hike up was just as beautiful but very hot in the late June summer heat. Enjoy the National Park, it's a good one!

Great hike on West Mountain. there is plenty of shade, but there are enough openings for a breeze.
