Beautiful! Very easy trail can access many other trails

Difficult trail, tons of steep climbing and switchbacks. No really pretty scenic views, but the trail itself is pretty.

For our first hike at a national park we did well. It was nice to be on West Mountain and in nature. A good workout after all of the food we ate in Hot Springs! Just a little over 2 miles and one hour.

hiked this trail along with mountain top, whittington, oak, and canyon, very nice trail, some ups and downs but the easiest walk of the set I did today, clean well used, pretty scenery

Great easy to follow trail with a pretty look out point- great to add onto many other trails.

Beware of ticks!!!!!!! With a 40% Deet liberally applied, I removed 17 after this trail. Trail was clearly marked and lots of deer.

Might as well if you’re there, but nothing to write home about.

I give it a 4 star for the area. It lacks super scenic views, but is still a very pretty hike with a variety of landscapes to see. It does have some pretty good climbs and this can be a challenge for those not in hiking shape, both from the distance and a handful of the climbs.

Be careful of ticks, both my dog and I picked up quite a few, likely due to some of the grassy areas you walk through.

I stopped here passing through on my way back to Colorado and thoroughly enjoyed the hike overall!

It is mostly well-marked, but I used this AllTrails recording because there are a few spots where it isn't very clear where you are supposed to go without it, and it isn't all "technically" the Sunset Trail. That ends somewhere around West Mountain Drive and then you pick up other trails from there back to the Gulpha Gorge Campground.

Well marked, pretty simple. There are absolutely no hot springs on this trail.

First 2/3 of the trail is great and well marked. It gets increasingly more confusing as you near the end. You will walk through downtown so be prepared for that... everyone looks at ya funny if ur sweaty, but it’s kinda a right of passage. Balanced rock (done on this recording) is easy to miss. The summit wasn’t that impressive, but worth the small additional hike. I didn’t do the goat overlook because

Coming from West Monroe Louisiana, this is as good as it gets in my book. About 4 hours from home, solid climbs, rocky descents, and the perfect distance to refuel back at the car for another loop. Well marked in most places but has a few trails that come together close to the Gorge, just adds a little variety!!
My favorite training spot so far when I can make the trip!

Great trail for a quick 45 minute hike with good views of the city. Easily accessible and worth your time. Some light elevation will get your heart rate up enough to consider it a good workout.

This is a very nice trail, and a long one at that.

Nice hike that I always like to travel. It's a good incline that doesn't seem too strenuous, and the views as you're getting to the top of the mountain are beautiful. I usually detour onto this trail from Hot Springs Mountain trail to add a little more to my hike.

Beautiful scenery of downtown Hot Springs. You are also able to access many other hiking trails off of the Grand Promenade.

My GF and I did this trail after having a light meal in town. offers a great view of the city.

My favorite trail in hot springs.

Please remove mountain biking from use options. I rode here and got yelled at by some trail nazi.

Great start beautiful Arkansas. Ends in town so last part car noises etc. Great hike!

The part of the trail I walked on was pretty. But all the traffic noise rose up from the town. I think there are quieter hikes in Audubon Park and City Park in New Orleans. Second I didn't finish the hike because the signs confused me. I was probably just confusing myself, so that might not be a problem for anyone else.

From the campground it was a moderate climb up to Goat Rock Trail overlook. Beautiful view & easy walk back down. Not too bad for senior citizens.

I loved this trail, you have awesome views of the city and beautiful scenery to walk through. We hiked it with four kids aged 5-15 and they all had a great time. Some of the signs were spray painted black so you couldn't see the trail markers but common sense is all you need. It took us about an hour with a few breaks on the benchs the park had throughout the trail.

Great hike with beautiful views. The trail gets rocky underfoot about halfway through and the loose quartz is really cool. Hike up to the top of Goat Rock. It's safe and a very short climb. There isn't a lot of shade on this trail but after Goat Rock, you can quickly turn onto Gulpha Gorge Trail which almost entirely shaded and much wider.

Easy walk above historic Bathhouse Row.

Beautiful walk along historic park

This trail allows you to start and finish at the same location. The official park trail map starts at Gulpha Gorge and finishes on West Mountain which means that you would have to park a car at the trailhead and the finish. This route simply starts and ends downtown using other hiking trails to connect the gap. This is a very long hike and you should set aside several hours to complete. My gps measured 13.13 miles. Parts of the trail are very steep and washed out. Take plenty of water, there are no water sources along the way. Plenty of deer to see along the way.
