This is a great trail for hikers, runners, and mountain bikers. There is a parking area with a short walk to the trail head. Many trails are accessible from this one area, so it is a great spot to check out. This trail has sections that are shaded and some that are not, so plan your time of day accordingly. Some areas are single track, so keep an eye/ear out for cyclists. There is one point where you will come to 3 metal trail stake signs with an option to go left or right - go right. Otherwise you will add mileage you may not have planned for. There are also other trails you can access from this trail if you want to explore further. All trails were marked well.

We enjoyed this for an easy evening hike. We connected it to the Continental loop close by for about 5 miles.

Had a great time on this one. Was nice to get out. Some views of mountains.

Nice trail that was well signed and easy to follow. You go down 200 feet in the beginning and then about 2 miles of flat going until the ascent to Fisher Point. Probably about 500 feet up but not too strenuous. View from Fisher Point is fabulous, but it was very windy there. Not a lot of shade in the middle of the day, but more so in the afternoon. A hike well worth doing.

We started at the Sandy's Canyon trailhead, there was a small dirt road to get to the trailhead, but I wouldn't see any car having trouble getting down it. The trail had good early morning shade, but when we left at midday there was almost no shade. The trail itself was dry, had lush vegetation, and was well maintained for the first four miles, but after that became overgrown with Woods' Rose bushes.

Good hike - as with many below, I ended up being roped into a hike that was somewhere between 6 and 7 miles by not being more careful with my wayfinding. Use a map or take a photo of the map at the start of the trail system. I did the Campbell Mesa loop to do some birding and to enjoy an easier hike. Trails are in excellent condition, and if you've never spent time in Flagstaff's ponderosa pine forests, this is a great place to introduce yourself to them. A good mix of shade and sun that made hiking on a hot day very manageable. You'll get some intermittent views of the surrounding mountains through the pines. Bird notes - this is an absolute haven for pygmy nuthatches, brown creepers, and woodpeckers. Also spotted a nighthawk or two.

This is one of my new favorite trails! I’m new to the whole trail walking thing now that I have a dog who loves going for walks, and I really liked this loop. I was even lucky enough to find an elk cow who followed me along the trail for a little bit. Very gorgeous and great for dogs (No trash bins though, so leave it somewhere before the loop and pick it up on the way out).

i really liked this trail, not a lot of uphills, so it was fairly easy. the whole trail is a little more than 5 miles, more like 7 miles. if you’re a experienced hiker this will be easy. if you’re a beginner it might be a little more difficult cause how long it is! but don’t let that stop you, bring lots of water. the trail is beautiful!

Nice trail system. Gets busy at times, but there are some pretty views and it’s an easy hike.

We loved the hike but got lost about halfway through because of the split in the trail that lacked signage. go right, left extends the hike a couple of miles. My frustration is that this was the only spot trails merged that was unmarked.

Great run! Lots of shade and signs. About 1.5 miles in there are a lot of switchbacks. Very scenic when you get farther in the canyon.

Wonderful running trail, not too busy. I would call this “easy” not moderate.

well marked trail. beautiful meadow with wild flowers. hiker be aware, lots of bike use.for some reason they don't warn you of their coming.

Very flat for most of it until you get into a really nice wooded canyon section.

Pretty easy trail. Little shaded areas here and there from trees, but not a lot on the trail. Pretty busy trail system, lots of cars and parking lot was pretty full. Very easy and flat with only moderate inclines.

This was a great trail. It seems to be a popular mountain biking trail. There were a lot of mountain bikers the day we went.

Kind of a boring hike until you get towards the end near the AZT. Nice easy walk though. Dogs loved it.

Came up from Phoenix to get out of the heat. It was a perfect escape. I just wanted to smell pine trees and I was surrounded! There was a fork about halfway through that was confusing. Go right.

Nice little walk we went on. Saw a few people at the beginning but only like 2 along the actual trail. Some shade along the way. Gorgeous view throughout.
