Nice trail, saw some fish jumping good size maybe about 8-10" carp. it was a little cool about 65. but a nice walk

Very easy trail. Flat, hard ground; easy to navigate. Beautiful views of the river.

Someone else had mentioned that this trail as posted doesn’t exist. At least some of it definitely does, but it’s barely there. You can see my recording to see where I went. I started from San Pedro House and went south on what seemed to be the marked trail - it’s basically a dirt road. About 4 miles up it turns left to Miller Backcountry Campsite (there is a sign - and apparently vault bathrooms!) and after that, the route north on “Sky Traverse Trail” (according to Google Maps) is more like a deer path, and difficult to find and follow. It is not close to the trees and the riparian area for most of it, just walking on a narrow, nearly invisible trail through chest-high dry grass. It was only once I was about a mile from the start that it went close to the creek and became pretty. If I were out here again, I would just go east from the San Pedro House, then south along the creek, and then go back the way I came.

I hiked a four mile loop from Fairbank ghost town out to the mill and back along the river.

Be aware that much of this trail as shown here does not exist. Also do not go to the start point shown, it is a dirt road intersection where I was not comfortable leaving my vehicle. Instead go to the San Pedro House where my track starts.

Great trail. Enjoyed seeing all the different bird species. We did not make it as far as we wanted because the mosquitos are really bad. Make sure you bring a lot of bug spray.

Absolutely great trail for the beginner. I started this trail yesterday mid-day (luckily it wasn't too hot) it has great views as it follows the San Pedro river east toward Hereford. It's all level ground and an easy walk. They do have a trail brochure at the store that you can use in addition to the markers placed on the trail to learn more about the wildlife and the geography. I did see a Rattler on the trail, but it is southern Arizona, so it's going to be hit or miss wherever you go. The wild life here is incredible! Fish, hundreds of lizards, cranes, and humming birds will delight you your whole way through.

VERY family friendly trail. Pretty trail too as far as trails go in this region. If the store is open they will lend you binoculars to see birds. The pond is very relaxing and scenic.
