Nice trail but would not rate it as easy because it is extremely rocky. So if you have any knee or ankle issues you have be careful as there is a great deal of loose rock, sometimes in large chunks. There were some nice views.

Great trail to walk large, active dogs on leash.

I like to park somewhere in the lots west of 59th Avenue, then proceed east across the bridge over 59th to complete the three peaks, east to west. All of these trails have abundant loose rubble which is hard on the feet in addition to being a slip and stumble factor. However, nice views at each peak, decent hike for being in town, and reasonably good parking.

A great adventure. My recommendation is to come early and bring plenty of water. I forgot how much loose rock Thunderbird has, which makes it a less pleasant trek at points. My Fitbit clocked it at 9 miles, so I’m not sure why I varied so much.

Nice faitly easy trail for a quick morning walk, very clean, missed the flag on today’s hike but can’t wait to see the new one installed on 11/10.

Luv this hike. It feels like a good workout going up, gets the heart pumping. Rocks are loose on the southwest side, I prefer the north side.

This was a pretty easy trail. Not a ton to look at, but it had a lot of variety as far as hills, rocks, and flat areas. There were places to stop and rest and wasn't too busy. My dog and husband (who doesn't really like hiking) really enjoyed this trail.

This was pretty good exercise for a “city walk”. You cam hear traffic from most of the trail, but it is far enough away to not be too bothersome. Decent views from the peaks.

Great hike with nice scenery. I went counter clockwise and noted that I probably went the most difficult way first.

will maintain Trail in the Thunderbird Park in North Glendale going clockwise you start at your parking lot at 57th and Pinnacle Peak I think you have a little couple hundred yards to the hill then you zig zag your way up about three-quarters of a mile to the first break a hundred yards and then you climb another little Ridge so at the flag. 1.1 miles from the parking lot the way down is a little longer but a little steeper the way up steps the way down ramp lots of rocks nice walk early in the morning

Disappointed. Nothing that scenic or pretty. I also didn’t think it was easy.

In looking over this map, I'm now realizing I only did half of this trail apparently. Well, that's good and well, as I'll definitely be back in the future. The half I did was up and down in about 45 minutes, where I shortcut the bridge to Cholla Loop. I'm silly and didn't realize there was another entry to the summit and just came down the way I went up. The views from Arrowhead's summit are really something and I was glad to kick off the hiking season with this one. In terms of difficulty, I'd say it's an easy-moderate. It's not particularly steep, in my opinion.

Thunderbird Mountain is totally jazzy. I went up Arrowhead first and then became curious and followed the bridge to Cholla Loop. I didn't know exactly what I was in for, but it was a good workout. Cholla Loop has no shade, so make sure to wear some solid sunblock and stay hydrated. This trail felt like it took forever, when in reality it took me about 80 minutes. Like at Arrowhead Point, there is a flag at the summit, and it's a good hike overall. Scenic? Eh, not as much.

It was a nice trail with great views and a patriotic summit!!!

This was a nice hike. It took me about two hours, which was longer than anticipated, but I am confused that the combo trail is listed as easy when each trail separately is moderate.

Nice, moderate 3+ Mike hike which loops around Thunderbird Mountain between 55th Ave and 59th Ave on Pinnacle Peak Road. Better to park on 55th Ave as there is more parking space, and just cross the road near the signal, which immediately takes you to Cholla Loop.

Loved it Especially the American flag when you get to the top

I do this quick hike when im pressed for time. I took my 9 month old son with me a few times in his hike pack...perfect short hike. Only downfall is close to road.

Moderate rating is accurate. I would suggest hiking the loop clockwise. This will provide a more gradual incline to the summit. Descending is with less small rocks and scree.

Accurately rated. Very accessible. Nice view overlooking Glendale from the summit. Added a black throated sparrow to my bird list.

This trail offers moderate elevation gain and no shade, but offers great views of the basin. In summer months hit the trail early. Trail is rocky in places.

My son-in-law and I go there almost every Sunday morning. It is pretty easy with just enough rocks, turns and elevation changes to make it fun.

Fun little hike with some great views of the temple

this was my beginners hike. I've done it a few times with my boys and they loved it.
