Ita hard to fairly assess this "trail" as it isn't a trail... it's a paved path right next to one of the largest Universities (ASU) in the country. It's a nice place to go for a run or ride ride your bike, but thats about it... I find it strange that this was even put into the app. Should we start including sidewalks and roads as well?

The whole trail is 4 hour and 8.9 Miles. It only lets you get to the other side on 1 side of the loop. The use of the bridges to get to the other side is good. All in all great walk.

What a beautiful way to start my day.

21 bird species - avocet, black necked stilt, bald eagle, shoveler, rudy duck, plus usual suspects

Tempe Town Lake is under construction right now (tempe.gov/damreconstruction) so the view aren't great and there is building construction right now on both banks so I can't recommend this trail at this time but, it's normally great. Also, the water fountains are inoperable and I couldn't find a bathroom.

Ok, but is mileage correct. Had to ddl back over Priest St bridge since north side closed, but registered at over 7 mi? Nice views from the top! 4.35

Also known as A mountain. This is a Super easy and quick hike. Doesn't take more than an 1 1/2 hrs to get up and down depending on how long you sit up at the top.

More commonly known as 'A' Mountain, this mountain is in the middle of Tempe and ASU, right off Mill Avenue, so as some other reviewers have pointed out this is not the place to go if you're looking for an escape from the city. South Mountain, the Superstitions, or any of the mountains up near Fort McDowell would all be better options and you wouldn't even have to leave the Valley to get to them. This trail is pretty busy at all times of the day as well, so in a lot of the narrower parts of the hike be prepared for delays or stoppages in your ascent.

This is a good, quick trail that is definitely very steep for most of the way (there's even a few sets of stairs throughout the trail) but since the hike itself is so short I didn't find it too bad. But I hike regularly on harder trails, so for a beginner or someone just starting to get in shape they may find it more difficult. This is a good trail if you're in the mood for some quick cardio and don't feel like going to a gym. Since Tempe Town Lake is so close you can follow up with some stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking to give your arms a workout as well ;)

Very short. In fact, I wouldn't consider this much of a hike. The trail is steep and rocky but well-maintained. I climbed it at 8:30 in the evening and found the trail packed with people. Beautiful view of the city at the top.

Maybe I'm not in the best shape for hiking but I found the incline pretty steep and some of the steps your leg is at a 90 degree angle to step up. Not a long hike with nice spots to catch your breath or a view.

Along the river between Mill Ave bridge and the dam is great, but the rest is too built up and busy. As far as the Butte, it's way overrated and overused -- only benefit is if you are training for endurance and quick summitting, but if you're a nature lover it's a let down.

Starting to hike and this is definitely great for beginners! The views are amazing; the beautiful wild brush along the trail, and the amazing city around it. It is a easy and very rewarding hike!
