Great solitude an hour away from Flagstaff. Take this hike when woods are dry, late spring to fall.
We had planned to retrace our route out, but ended up going off trail to make it a loop trip back to our car at Casner Tank.

Good trail but it’s washed out in sections. Use the app or a GPS. I’d of preferred the GPS. Only four stars because of the trail was not as clear as other sites have described and no one has reviewed it here.

This was a fairly easy hike, but with VERY little shade making for a long, hot day!! I took 2.5L of water and ran out the last 1.5 miles... Should have taken the full 3L. Maybe it would be more enjoyable further into the fall.

Solid hike in Sycamore Canyon, 5.4 miles to river bed, total of ~11. Moderate. Take 89a to 525c and stay on it until the end- dirt roads but well maintained for the most part, any vehicle can make it to the parking area. Recommended if you want a canyon to yourself!
