Kid friendly trail that is not overly difficult. Great for just getting the body moving.

Not really this trail but it requires choosing on

It was a great hike and beautiful scenery. The orange leaves was like a beautiful fall day. I only saw two other couples the entire way. Disappointment was I did not see the cabin at the end of the trail. I ended up hiking 12 1/2 miles with a couple of turnarounds where I got off the trail and also trying to find the cabin. I also slipped and fell in the river so all of my clothes got wet, which made the hike back pretty chilly. I would definitely do it again and maybe camp at the end of the trail head and I would like to spend more time to find the cabin.

Such a great hike I definitely recommend going early morning so y’all don’t get traffic going up and coming down. Very beautiful.

This trail is incredible! Not too strenuous and incredible views throughout. This trail just begs you to keep hiking, and then pays you off constantly.

It was a beautiful trail. Views, a stream and was not too hard. You do have to take the dirt road back about 2 miles for parking. We got lost on the way out... it was not marked. As others suggest, use the map!

Great trail, well marked, but missed the turn to Dutchman on the backside. Went CCW and found that was best choice, water still in springs and pools. Highly recommend, beautiful views. 4.2 hours with a stop for lunch.

Very rocky the entire way. The last stretch has most of the incline which can make it tricky. Cool little cave at the top and an extremely beautiful view.

highly recommend trail shoes with great grip. loose rock and steep incline towards the top. amazing views the entire hike

Nice scenery. trail is mostly loose rock and boulders. Lots of people. We went on a weekend, started at noon, and on our way down we saw 25+ people easy. Other than that it was a really nice hike with the dog.

Such a beautiful hike!

Preface.... this is my 5th hike since moving to Phoenix area in late November. I'm the recipient of a double knee replacement a couple years back on the second one. Out of shape and just looking for something to push me. This is that trail, by far the most difficult trail and got off course a couple of times. But I will 100% be back to make the summit, I made about 2/3 and body decided we had enough. I'd rate it difficult++ lots of climbing over boulders and up sides of rocks. when I'm in shape, this one is definitely on the repeat hike list.

Gorgeous trail! Very easy to follow, just take your time when you come across creek beds and look for the cairns. Still a decent amount of water but unfortunately the water fall wasn’t going. I went counter clockwise but would probably go the other way next time because I get nervous on steep rocky descents. Took me 5 hours as a slow hiker with good breaks. Beautiful views for pretty much the entire hike

This was a fantastic hike. I was caught off guard when I looked behind me on the way up. The valley was absolutely stunning. The views from the summit were even more awe inspiring. Take your time, pack a lunch and take it all in.

A really nice hike If you’re looking for a most of the day walk. We did the loop counter clockwise which worked out nicely as we finished with the steepest part as a downhill and in the shade. There’s still water in several of the shaded and protected drainages. A great hike if you’re in decent shape and have a good pair of boots.

Perfect conditions for the south ascent today. Temperatures in the mid 60s, almost no wind, and lots of sun. Trail a little over grown in places with all the December rain, but lots of rocks cairns to guide the way when you look for them. Added a few photos of the small climb section.

Nice hike up the Wedding Cake Hill today, and returned with a loop on Cougar Trail. Noticed some petroglyphs today on the west side near the summit, on what looks like an alternate accent route. I think I will try going up the drainage of the west face of the summit block, and get a better look, next time.

Started at lost Goldmine Trail head… Was going to hike To the cave but massive Barbwire covering the entrance to wave Cave Trail at the sign ...Could not go north up to the Cave...The hike was yesterday

Really adventurous and fun hike with great views. Did this today CCW. Total 9.23 miles, 1482 feet up, 3:34 time. I’d recommend good hiking shoes and plenty of water. No cell reception throughout most of the hike. Prepare well with downloaded maps and enough food and water. The trail is easy to follow but there are a few sections where it seems to disappear. The app will guide you really well but keep your eyes open around the 4.1 mile mark CCW and when you’re hiking in the creek bed around 6.2. Follow the rock cairns and the app. If there’s a lot of water you may lose the trail at first sight. Next time I’d do this CW. Going CCW you end up descending all the technical rock section on the last 3 miles. I’d prefer climbing that. My toes and knees took a lot of abuse today through the rocks. Be sure to stop for pictures. Some great views along the way!

Hiked on Jan 16. Weather was cool and overcast with only a few people on the trail. An easy walk from the Peralta Trailhead with a few hundred feet of steep and loose footing near the cave. Really nice views from the cave. I was surprised at how big the cave is. Be cautious on your way down and be thankful you wore good boots.

Loved the trail until we got to the last section to go up to the needle. Although cairns are plentiful, there were some rogue cairns. Follow the trail using the app! I probably wouldn’t want to go all the way to the needle again, but peralta trail was as always amazing
