The Superstition Wilderness area is open only to hikers and equestrians; no 4wd vehicles, ATVs, dirt bikes, or bicycles are permitted in the wilderness area.

Best hike so far I’ve done in AZ. Worried about the uphill climb but it was easy breezy in this cool December weather. The rush of seeing the needle just as you get to the top of the trail is worth every bump on the dirt road to the trailhead. My small group also took a side trail to Lone Tree and the views were phenomenal. As a rookie hiker this was a great fun beautiful hike. I’ll be back!

Take ample water. Heat exhaustion and a hornet made for a really less than stellar finish to the trail, but it was beautiful and worth it.

We did a short thru hike from the Peralta Trailhead to Dutchman Trail to Boulder Canyon Trailhead. We camped at Second Water Spring and continued on to Canyon Lake (17 miles total) the next day.
We hiked for 9 miles from Fremont Saddle with no water in sight until we reached Second Water Spring (fortunately we had decided to carry 5 liters each, so we had enough for a late November hike), we refilled our water containers before breaking camp. We, again, didn't find any water until we arrived at Canyon Lake. Boulder Canyon is a great trail, but many sections are definitely difficult due to the terrain, incredibly tight, undermanaged trails and you need to have hawkeye vision to find all the cairns when crisscrossing the streambed to make sure you stay on trail.
The views are terrific whether you are up high or are walking along the canyon floor.

Hiked the trail today. As everyone mentioned before fantastic views. When you reach the saddle do make the effort to hike out to lone pine. It’s off to your left when looking at Weavels Needle.

Great view from the top. Trail is easy to loose. Pay attention to the trail. Loose gravel and it’s a good incline at the top. Wear shoes with good tread otherwise you will fall and it’s a long, painful fall down...

Moderate trail due to loose rocks. Worth your time. Great little short trail. When the water is running it’s beautiful!!!!! Watch out for the bees tho.
