Awesome view and fun trail. Lots of switchbacks and pretty steep. plan on going an hour up and 30-45 min down. Try to go as early as you can, before the sun comes up for sure

Nice relatively easy hike. The look out facilities are being renovated so don’t expect to use the restrooms. The view of the valley are worth the hike. There’s almost no shade on the trail, nor a breeze. Expect it to be very hot. Highly recommend bringing water, sunglasses and hat/visor. Regardless skin pigmentation sunscreen is a must, minimum SPF 30, recommend SPF 50 (must be sweet proof). Over a great morning or later afternoon hike.

Nice hike. Well worth it. Cool views of Phoenix. Lots of squirrels and lizards around. Tunnel was awesome. Make sure to wear good hiking boots. You can easily twist an ankle. A bit steep at first and it is kind of a rocky trail.

Nice views and cool rock formations near Fatman's Pass. It starts out uphill right away but more level along the loop portion. The trail is a little difficult to find on the east side of Fatman's pass but I was able to pick it up again using the alltrails map. I started out at about 8:30 am and it was really hot on the way back down. I suggest starting earlier in the morning and bring PLENTY of water!

Love this trail as it kicks my butt on the incline, and isn’t heavily populated like other surrounding trails!

Great trail- not too challenging and had great views at the top. I went at sunrise and was not too busy at all.

As soon as I landed I hiked this trail. My first hike in AZ!

We started at 6:45pm and finished at 8:05pm with 6yr and 13 yr olds. The mountain was covering the sun for the most part which is a big plus. The beginning is pretty easy. It does get a little inclined with steps towards the last 1/3 I'd say. Take lots of water during this time specially if you are not used to the AZ heat. Didn't see any rattlesnakes :) Decent hike overall!

Wow what a great trail. The whole area is really beautiful this was my first time here. My garmin got me at 5.7 and it took me an hour and 41 minutes. I ran what I could but like other reviewers say after I’d say about 2/2.7 miles you need to start looking at all trails a decent amount so you don’t get off trail. I thought this trail had everything though. Great views, good elevation, lots of easy spots to run at plus some of that class 3. Highly recommend.

cool trail. A cpl spots get your heart pumping when you're on the incline. The rest is pretty mellow. Peaceful towards the flat loop with saguaros. Saw a lot of birds, a rabbit, and what looked like a corral snake. we went at 4am, so it wasn't too bad, but towards the end, the heat was rough. I wouldn't do this later in the day or even 7am, if I were to do it again, definitely first light. But if you can take a little sun, go for it. It was nice

easy to moderate difficulty, the beginning has an incline and is rocky, some back and forth going up the trail, but much easier when you get to the loop.
