Fun hike. Great 360 view from the summit. It's called Javelina Summit but I didn't see any today. Although I know they are out there cause I've seen them and a bobcat. This is a 3 bottle trip on a summer morning.

BackpackingGreat!No shade

The trail is a good challenge for anyone who enjoys hiking or working out. It is very long and no shade along the trail so it is highly recommended to hike this trail when the sun isn’t at its peak during the day and bring lots of water to keep yourself hydrated. Love the view while hiking though.

Started a little after 5am. The first 1.5 miles or so is easy and then gradually starts to incline. The signage is a bit misleading. The first sign that pointed to Javelina Summit said .9. As we reached the saddle, another sign was displayed saying .9 to the summit. In the end, it did add about another mile or so. The switchbacks were killer, became steep and lots of loose rocks. I almost gave up but pushed through. The view at the summit is awesome! Some giant fly bugs on top. Did run into two chuckwallas and someone gave us a warning about a rattler on the trail as we descended but did not see it. The trail was quite empty, maybe came across a handful of people. This trail is exposed, no shade. Start early, bring snacks and water. Hiked on May 22, 2020.

Perfect hike. Good views. Not crowded. Few areas are moderate. Good beginner trail. I often run this trail for exercise.

Love this trail. A good challenge for most people. The trail runs in a loop; if you start out by going left the trail will be a bit harder reaching the peak. Lots of switchbacks heading to the top. Overall great trail and a good exercise.

Nice hike, pretty views. Bees were active but not interested in us. Gnats were also active but were interested in us. We saw 3 large chuckwallas and 1 rattlesnake that was crossing the trail. Friendly snake even rattled a couple of times to say hello.

Crowded! Yes, I get it, more and more people are using the trails to get outside, which is a good thing, however, there is no respect doe anyone else using the trails. We arrived at 0700 for our hike, the parking lot was already full due to campers who had spent the night (tents everywhere!) Many of the other hikers we encountered had obnoxiously loud music coming from their phones, one hiker carried a speaker in her backpack so the music was amplified long before we saw her. Dogs off leash and owners not picking up after their dogs. We arrived back to our car- only to find it blocked in! No one patrolling the lots, cars parked on the sidewalk, and where we had parked in the lot, cars pulled behind and in front of an entire row of cars, blocking about 8-10 vehicles in. Will stick to White Tank, this is a disaster.
