Nice long walk in the woods.

Easy hike except for the rocks, I tripped on one and skinned by shin a little. We missed the ice cave turn off on the way in but turned around after 3.5 miles and saw it on our way back. The turnoff for the cave is not well marked, after about 2 miles in, there is a small trail to the left where you turn. Kept having to look down to avoid all the rocks and horse poop. It’s a beautiful area and easy for all ages. Too bad the ice cave is fenced off tho, three years ago, we could hike down into it. There must of been a reason for them to fence it off

It is a good hike but be careful with little kids since they are rocks through out the trail and some are sharp. I didn’t like to see that many chopped off trees so be emotionally prepared. Overall i guess is among the best that pinetop has to offer. We will be back

easy to get to the trailhead. not very steep. Rocky in places.moderate only because of the distance which is actually closer to 8 miles to do the entire loop without any shortcuts. The westside of the hike is definitely the best part.

A nice walk in the woods. We rate this an upper scale of easy. Only moderate we observed was rubble. Overall a nice easy hike.

Challenging trail in horseback but near the back side of the lake it get too narrow to continue. Recommend you turn around.

Great hike!

We did this drive over the weekend. It was such a beautiful drive with lots of views! The road is not paved so it will take a few hours to go the full 43 miles but there are lots of pull off areas.

Moderate in some spots but my husband and the dogs enjoyed it! Great views at all times of lake!

We did the entire trail in 3 1/2 hours round trip. It started raining the last hour so the rocks were a bit slippery on the way down. We did not encounter a soul the entire time. Gorgeous 70 degree afternoon. Lush vegetation and very serene. Only negative is there isn’t really a big payoff at the top when you’ve done all that work!

me and my friend headed the wrong direction. so I gave this trail a 4 due to that. but it was a lovely hike and wonderful views. pretty easy...I would consider it more of a nature walk. again recognizing we headed east instead of West on the trail.

Pretty trail all around the lake. My dog loved it! Saw a few other people walking and a few other dogs, fair few people fishing. Trail is mostly well marked although we got off it a few times but not hard to find your way back.

This trail wasn’t as nice a ai was expecting. It starts in a carpark and then walks through a forest for a bit, takes a while until you see any of the rim views and these were nice but not amazing. We started with the rim lakes vista portion of the trail as other reviews said the old rim road was a bit boring and just walking along road. After a few miles we encountered a moderately sized snake in the middle of the trail which wouldn’t budge so we turned back, but I think it would have just been more of the same. Didn’t seem like the walk is done much as it was overgrown in parts. When we drove past the military sinkhole parking lot the trail looked nicer there along the rim.

Ride with Karen, Daly, and Rod.

Fun trail with kids, but they need to be good hikers. It's longer than it appears, and some of the inlets are pretty remote! There is a great variety of terrain and we love this trail.

Nice hike. Went counterclockwise. The logging operations are evident but it’s still a nice shady enjoyable hike with pretty scenery and some water and variation. Good footing for dogs not too rocky.

This is an amazing Hike. Through and through in shade and dense riparian habitat. Though is not hard as categorized but could be a bit strenuous but you will not feel so cause of the thick vegetation. Did the entire hike in 4.30 hrs and 2.30 hrs for reaching the road #300 from the trail head

As others stated there is logging in progress. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. I turned around after about a mile as the trail is quite rocky and was hard on my small dogs feet.

Nice hike. Went counter clockwise like usual.

Beautiful trail with great Lake views. I would rate it as easy to moderate though. Lots of fun and my dog loved it!

Would not recommend the trail at this time, wait until the timber harvest is complete. It’s a fine trail and the creek is a bonus. As always the White Mountain Trail System has the best markings.

Nice moderate trail. But there is a lot of tree thinning making the trail hard to follow. Got off trail a couple of times

Pretty easy ride, with some great scenery. The trail was gravely in some places, making it a pain to pick up speed every now and then. All in all great ride for beginners and people who haven’t biked in a while.
