Gorgeous trail in the spring; covered in wild flowers. If 9 miles is more than you're up for you can take the tram to stop 9 and hike back to the visitors center. Aside from the ascents the majority of this trail is fairly flat and gentle but is narrow and has steep drop offs into the canyon.

Relatively easy trails with some climbing. There’s plenty of locations to stop and rest.

Great trail, couple of creek crossings made it fun. Scenic and enjoyable!

Desert was in bloom, awesome views. This is a power climb to the top, but worth it! Water, poles, sunscreen, hat, we took lunch for up top. My wife loved her new evaporation style wet towel, to cool her off. We did overflow parking to bluff trail, creek trail, phoneline link, phone line to blacketts. savintheday on mysuunto, mapped.

Great hike with phenomenal views. It is pretty much straight elevation gain, but worth it with beautiful scenery and views and a payoff view at the top. Would recommend hiking boots and poles.

Beautiful hike yesterday from the visitors center to tram station 9. This hike is rated easy, but it gets technical in places and I am surprised that more people do not reference the sheer drop offs to the canyon floor. Locals use it for a running path-- I found it challenging but well worth the effort.

Beautiful hike with lots of wild flowers. Narrower trail than many others in the canyon as it goes along a ridge. If you are afraid of heights or drop offs, this isn't the hike for you. Lots of spots on the ridge are sheer drop offs.

Amazing climb to an incredible view. No shade to speak of. Channel your inner mountain goat on some of the rocks on the trail.

We were leaving Tuscon later in the day and wanted a quick walk to say good-bye to the wonderful cacti. This hike was perfect for such a good-bye. It’s very easy and pleasant. Not well-shaded so make sure you wear sun screen.

good workout, lots of birds and flowers.

Amazing views of the canyon on this train. It takes you along the ridge. Lots of wildflowers thanks to all the recent rain. We had to take our boots off to cross the river but the rest of the trail was dry. Highly recommend this trail!!!!

Fantastic hike! A bit of a scramble on the way up, but well worth it for the views. Don’t forget to stop every once in awhile to look around - lots to see! Came across several chipmunks, a lizard, two deer, lots of birds, and tons of wildflowers.

Another fine hike. It was a pretty quick one but straight up. Great views the whole time. 3 hour hike; 1.5 hrs going up, a bit less coming down.

I loved this trail! It's a fairly flat trail and is on the easier side, although the length and a couple rocky areas make it moderate. Gorgeous wildflowers and lots of butterflies and birds to see in the spring!

It was an easy and short trail mostly paved. The water was running which made for some great views.

Great hike, truly enjoyed. The hike is certainly a challenging one, but we'll worth the effort and time.

This is my new favorite hike. The wildflowers were all over the top and the views are incredible. I breathed hard the whole way up, but it was totally worth it!

Started around 2pm and ended just before 5pm. It’s pretty intense on your legs but well worth the experience! Definitely bring plenty of water and be prepared to take frequent stops—it’s like a constant stair stepper going up! Nothing dangerous about this hike but it is very rocky.

Just hiked this afternoon. A lot of the other trails in the park are closed due to high, fast water. Beautiful easy hike, mostly exposed, would be great for active kids.

Thus trail is rightfully rated as hard as it is a continual ascent on a mostly rocky trail. It is, however, worth the challenge. The trail does, indeed, follow a ridge on the side of the mountains so you have amazing views the entire hike. Do take plenty of water. It was low 70s yesterday and mostly sunny and I still drank a good 80 oz. of water. I would not suggest hiking this trail in the Arizona summer heat! There is no shade.

It was definitely a difficult hike. Pretty steep. I’d recommend bringing a camelback with water or a backpack since I needed both of my hands on the way down due to it being so steep in some points and to not slip on the gravel. Awesome views!!

You have to get on the trail early to beat the crowd this time of year, esp. when there has been plentiful rain. That's what I did this weekend - the view and sounds at Cardiac Gap were pretty dramatic. Should be more of the same for the next couple of weeks at least. Thanks for the shortcut from overflow parking. Next time!

Hard but the best exercise ever

Definitely a go to for me when I want some elevation, beautiful scenery and have limited time. It easily checks all of those off! My favorite hike in Sabino Canyon for sure.
