I really enjoyed the trail but I hoped for more shade. Started at 5:30 am in August and saw full sun by 7. Phoneline stays shaded longer so if it's really hot, go there. Excellent trail but not when the day's high is 105. No regrets.

There are a few places where the trail cuts across the wash and you need to keep eyes peeled for trail markers. At one of the early crossings in particular I was glad to have my downloaded map at hand! Nice maintained trail, and water in the pools at seven falls in August. It was nice to take a dip before returning back. Definitely bring snacks and plenty of water, I passed more than one person run out or nearly run out of water on the trail!

Good easy/moderate trail. This time of year (August) there is no flowing water, so not quite as pretty as it would be at other parts of the year. No shade by late morning though, bring 3L of water and shoes with good ankle support. I am a experienced hiker and it took me 3.5 hours round trip with about a 30 minute break at the top.

Great hike!! No water really,, some nasty looking water at the fall ponds only.. but great hike overall, got very hot coming back!! But made it!!

The trail was amazing. it was so fun! There was lots of lizards some were rainbow colored and we saw snakes in the little bit of water that was around. Beautiful views!!

Loved the Sabino Canyon area. This was my first time venturing to Tucson to explore the mountains. Beautiful rock formations and your classic desert landscape. As we ventured to the third trail, the husband and I did get lost. We could not find the connector to Creek trail #52. Almost gave up when we found it. The ending was a surprise as we ran into a waterfall flowing over a rock dam. I would go back to explore more trails for sure! Minimal fee for parking. Completed on Apr. 27, 2019.

Beautiful hike and plenty of water in the pools.

Heard about this hike from a lot of people. Thought I would give it a shot. Quick elevation gain makes it challenging especially for someone who doesn’t like a whole lot. I started at about 5:30 AM, but once that sun rose above the mountain there’s not much shade. It’s doable for anybody, it just might take a little longer for some. I killed my 2L’s of water as I was about 1/2 mile from my car. Killer views throughout. Good ending seeing that plaque that says Trail End. Sat atop for about 1/2 hour relaxing. Not to many people but it was a Monday. Glad I had my Trekking pokes. Trail shoes a must. Sunblock, hat, glasses, and snacks for the top are no brainers.

Grat easy Hike, specially for beginners.

AMAZING TRAIL! The view was incredible, straight forward and easy to follow, TAKE WATER!

Fun hike! Not to hard or long and a great reward once you get to the falls! The water was cold at the top pool but it was refreshing! The lower the pools the warmer water. Not a ton of shade so bring extra sunscreen and hat! Also recommend taking the shuttle to the trail head so you don’t have to walk in additional 4 miles down the road.

Great trail. Lots of ups and downs but the views when you gain elevation makes it all worth it. As an FYI - be mindful of the elements- I started out at 7AM and by 10AM it was already uncomfortably hot. Once I drank half of my water I headed back down.

Great hike

Awesome hike! Moderately intense but easy to follow and hike. I left when it was 98° and I don’t think I’d recommend it as the best approach, but, still not terribly strenuous. You don’t realize when you start that the rocks are also very hot and radiating heat upwards. Next to no shade depending on the time of day. Bring lots of water! Compared to Blacketts trail, this is slightly easier but might wear you out a bit more due to the 50% increase in length.

I would recommend this trail to everyone. Not very difficult except for the length. There is no shade along this trail. I suggest to bring at least 3L of water and to leave early. I used my national park pass but there is an entry fee of $5. I did get a little lost on the way back (you cross the river many times) but the all trails app got me right on track. There is no water in the river so I did not get wet until I reached the falls and took a swim- the water was great. About 3 hours of hiking. Enjoy!
