Running

Excellent for an early morning run. Nice breezes, good uphill/downhill out & back, adequate restrooms, and great views.

Great trail, easy to follow. Excellent views at the summit. Bring lots of water and maybe a sports drink.

This one is a leg burner, but so worth it when you get to the ridge. Amazing, unbeatable views! Bring lots of water!!

Hiking

Not crowded at all during the week. Nice views this morning before the wind changed direction and blew all the smoke over from the fire in Pusch Ridge Wilderness in the afternoon. Saw a Gila monster and 2 male collared lizards, no danger noodles though they are certainly out there this time of year.

Awesome 3.8 mile paved trail with a lot of other trails that break off so you can extend your route if you’d like

Nice hike with 5 boys from 2-12. We had a stroller which was used with the 2, 4 and 7 yr old rotating on the way out. We took the road to the right to the dam. Nice elevation for this age group. Great walk for 2 moms to chat here up and chat through the rolling paved and dirt path.

Hiking

One of the best spots to catch the sunset in my opinion. We hiked it yesterday with a start time of 5:30pm. A bit warm but as soon as the sun set it was lovely. This is a great hike for hella elevation in a short amount of time. My best advice for ditching the mass amount of people that covid has brought out to play: choose times that are not super popular, like sunset. Bring your headlamp! If you have any questions on what gear I use, I’m on Instagram @saritamendez Happy hiking! Leave no trace!

One of the best hikes in Tucson for the amazing views at a reasonable distance without extreme climbs but definitely bring water and start early. Well worth it to bring some snacks to enjoy at the end.

Good trail, mostly uphill. Trekking poles would be helpful.

Beautiful trail! We started hike at 5:30am to beat the heat and it was perfect. We had shade the whole way in. We took tram road back and stopped and enjoyed the water for a little bit.

Saw a suggestion for counter-clockwise, best decision! Quite rugged most of the way, but gorgeous views once up there! Was tricky sticking to this map, especially finding Bluff Trail, as it is not well marked. Creek and picnic area nice and shaded. Saw a Gila Monster yay. F4f @gentwolf3 on IG :)

Great trail that changes all the time. Sometimes you’re in a wooded area, sometimes along a creek or the dam, others along the ridge and canyon side. Not too difficult. Had a great time! We started on Bluff Trail #51 went down Sabino Lake Trail #30 and around to Sabino Dam Trail #33 to Creek Trail #52. Great time!

RunningBugsOff trail

Went on an early evening as the sun was setting and a slight breeze appearing. The trail starts off relatively easy but mile 1-1.5 is a fairly rocky uphill. Once you get off Phoneline the down hill switchbacks offer some relief from the previous uphill. Hiking/running through the creek bed offered some unique challenges but overall the hike/run was thoroughly enjoyable. Definitely recommend for those wanting a shorter hike with plenty of scenery. Bonus: A family of javelinas hanging out by the creek where the trail changes over near the Rattlesnake trail!
