Trailhead tricky to find. After parking keep walking toward house at dead end. Trailhead is on the left. The last 1.75 is paved road. We opted to take Marshall Gulch trail back to Mint Spring. Making for a total of 7..1. After so much desert hiking the woods were an ice change.

Great trail with beautifull views. Rated moderate but it has a dificult section between mount lemon and romero pass. If you are doing the hike in opposite direction consider it difficult. On the dry season expect water only at the purch pools and needs to be filtered before using it. Took 9 hours to complete. GPX file from the App is very accurate.

Beautiful hike in the fall. Wooded downhill trail with quite a few switch backs. Could be challenging for those used to walking downhill on the way back. Awesome scenery, and a lot of wildlife to enjoy. Summer Haven is also just up the mountain with a couple nice restraints a d a general store. I would visit Mount Lemmon again.

Great trail! Being one of the first trails I've hiked for a very long time made it a bit rough but awesome views at nearly every peak. There are some sketchy areas with loose rocks but as long as you watch your footing, you'll be good. The picture is from Leopold Point.

Lost the trail at the peak. Wound up walking down the road to Iron Door and picked it back up there.

A couple friends and I backpacked out on the wilderness of rocks trail and hammock camped far off the trail. We took the Mint Springs trail back to summerhaven and were surprised at how beautiful it was compared to the wilderness of rocks trail. This trail was covered in tall grass (reaching our necks in some places) and covered in wild flowers in the spring. After monsoons a nice creek flows across the trail in some parts. I would definitely backpack this trail again instead of the wilderness of rocks trail.
