Beautiful flowers and scenery! Rated a 3 due to how busy it is with a lot of runners needing to pass !

Alright, not my favorite but a nice in town work out

Beautiful trail. Lots of variety along the path. Good workout.

A fun hike to bring visitors to. It’s a well groomed trail that doesn’t require high end hiking boot but some thing with good traction would be good. Lots of elevation change. The end of the out and back is a little lack luster but still a good hike.

This is my neighborhood trail and I hike it regularly. It’s quite crowded on the weekends but afternoons during the week are very pleasant. Gorgeous in Spring when all the wildflowers are in bloom. Some intense switch backs esp near the end - last 1/4 mile. Parking fills up early on weekends as well.

Always a great one!

Lovely trail. Not as much of a workout as Camelback but much more enjoyable for a low key hike. Love this trail!

great hike!

fantastic views, fun moderate intensity hike. love it.

HATE IT

Terrible experience! First I had to park almost a mile from the trailhead to find parking on the streets. Second, it reminded me of going to an NFL game and walking in from the back lot and being part of thousands of people all going the same place. Third, the trial will filled with Scottsdale housewives in their designer outfits. Forth, three different times I experience groups of people stopping and completely blocking the trail, three times I had to let people know "you are blocking the trail." Fifth the trail climbs a couple of hundred feet which provides a view of rooftop and sacreligious golf courses.

On a scale of 1 to 100 I'd rank this trail a 0 for being able to connect with nature.

Overall: the hike was great! Pretty moderate so friendly for most hikers. I reached the highest point in about 20 minutes which was a nice surprise. Of course there was much more to the hike. Very busy to no surprise on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of traffic on this hike. Would do it again happily.

The weather: Saturday afternoon in January I was looking at high 60s low 70s with clear skies. Perfect temperature to hike.

The hike: It took about 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete with about 10 minutes of break for water, sight seeing and pictures. You will find lots of wildflowers and cactuses along the hike. It’s very busy so the foot traffic is heavy. If you like to have a fast pace during your hikes you will find yourself waiting to pass people as there are parts of the trail that are narrow. Overall people generally are polite and move. The trail is nice because you reach the peak in a short amount of time. It’s almost broken into quarters. The first quarter is steep. Then the second quarter is downhill. Third quarter uphill and then down. Since it’s a back and forth trail you will do that pattern twice if that makes sense.

Real nice trail, easy walking with good climbs. Definitely one of the busier trails I've been on.

Great views and very well maintained trails and facilities. The hike is rather too easy but a good one still.

Love the views - and a great workout. We like to time ourselves and aim to beat it (but stopping to take photos always slows us down!). Only negative - can get busy. Avoid weekends ideally - locals use it for fitness and lots of tourists. Maintained non smooth path. Great place to take people new to area.

Nice hike with pretty views. There were signs up for the twelve days of Christmas which was a nice touch and the trail was very nicely maintained. The only downside for me was this was a pretty heavily trafficked trail and we had to keep stepping aside for joggers. Other than that, I really enjoyed this hike and would definitely do this one again!

Great little 3.5 mile hike! Not terribly steep, and incredible views. The only downside is that it was pretty crowded.

Awesome short hike with great views and a smooth trail that lets you glide across the side of the peak. Very well maintained with lots of volunteer porters ready to assist as needed. Perfect choice to take family/friends visiting from out of town. Fun hike to repeat as it is relatively short in distance. Very busy though.... one group was squawking so loudly, a grandma desert tortoise emerged in a nightgown with a rolling pin and told the group to keep it down.

Amazing! This easy scenic hike is something everyone should do at least once. The rock formations are so unique and this is an outing even young families will enjoy. During December, there are sign posts with the 12 days of Christmas, Arizona-desert style marking the first 1/4 mile of the route. Very easy and well maintained trail!

Very doable trail with beautiful views. You do not get to go to the peak ( can go with climbing gear) which was a little disappointing but overall very nice.

It’s easy if you are used to hiking, you will still break a sweat but it didn’t justify the amount of food we ate after

Lovely simple hike. Used to do this every week, pushing my son up the trail in his stroller. Beautiful views, but not a REAL hike. More of a nice walk with a little elevation. Tough rock climbing to the peak though. I highly recommend it

Nice family trail. Our first Scottsdale hike 4 years ago!

Super crowded. Nice dessert views. Trail signage the whole way with a stupid cartoon, I get it’s to make it “fun” for kids but it mars the natural scenery and we should teach children to appreciate nature as it is.
