My first trail I ever did , hiking first. Seemover nice a lot of good photo spots. Had a great day

Could not find “the trail” for the life of us! Ended up wondering around and making our own trail. Portions were difficult, would be hard for beginners. Would not recommend if you are looking for easy.

good trail. not the best in the area.

Beautiful Scenery half way in....awesome Incline workout too! Loved it ....bathrooms on site!

best hike in Scottsdale Phoenix area. Not as rough as echo canyon but very challenging. great views.

Great workout! Slightly overcrowded and parking can get wild but the views great!

Beautiful trail. Loops you around to Piestewa Peak Summit Trail. Traffic is moderate until you get to the back of the trail, then its sparse. There are only a few places that provide shade so make sure your prepared and have plenty of water.

Awesome brother-sister hike!

Crossed paths with two coyotes.

best trail in Phoenix

Awesome hike, great arobic

Great workout, straight up the mountain! Slippery rocks in some spots so wear shoes with good tread. The view from the top is breathtaking! Busy trail but very friendly :) can’t wait to do it again.

Awesome views, clean area, different options

A little crowded but a great hike with an excellent reward. Beautiful sunrise!!

Great hike!! Recommend going before sunrise, and hike as the sun rises. I started climbing around 630am. Extraordinary views. I made it to the peak. I’m not an experienced
hiker but I am very athletic so it was a pretty difficult hike but wasn’t bad at all until about the last leg of the hike-as others had stated complete stair climber machine! I sat at the peak for awhile moving from the few areas to sit and the longer I sat the more people joined. I started the decent about 9am and on my run down it was getting very crowded but very hot. Had no experienced with any wildlife but again amazing views especially while the sun is rising the mountains surrounding captured the sunlight perfectly! Backpacks not needed just water and a snack-however I did carry one with my GoPro and snacks.

Another successful hike with the crew. ⛰

I made a loop out of it taking trail 200 on the way back. beautiful nature. hardly anyone in the trail. lots of birds, even in the late afternoon. ocotillos were so green

Summit and Loop didn’t disappoint. The trail up was a bit busy, but once we turned off and started the loop there was barely anyone else. Very peaceful and actually quiet other than the occasional airplane passing overhead.

Very busy on the summit trail--on a weekday! The Freedom loop was pretty quiet, though, and had some great view around the back. The trails here are not marked well and the signage is confusing.

Pretty busy, but a great hike. Short enough if you're tight on time but hard enough to make it worth your while.

Love this trail! Great workout, Freedom Trail was awesome, not busy at all. Get here early. Parking lot is being redone so parking is limited.

We've been hitting up the preserve for a few weeks now, just zigzagging around. This trail is great, with lots of options to go off in different directions. Ended up hiking up 302 and sitting just under Piestawa and enjoying the sunset. After all the rain this month, the mountains are incredibly green. Started at the Dreamy Draw recreation area, and went up the 1A. We were looking for the other end of the Irregular Link, and we not disappointed in the loop at all. Definitely a little more than moderate if you're not in at least okay shape, but not difficult to do with plenty of water and a rest if you need it. Started at 4:15, finished at 6:30; could be done faster, but we take stops to just enjoy the views.

Hmmm...We tried to do this hike, but, as sometimes happens, we went off where things looked more interesting. I am not sure where or what hike we were, but we started in the parking lot and ended up on 1A until we found a marker that said "Irregular Link", which sounded cool, so we headed that way-and we were really glad we did! It was awesome! We ended up having to turn around after about an hour and a half because we had somewhere to be. The first part of our hike was deciding in that it looked like it was going to be disappointingly boring, but it got better and better, especially when we got into the Irregular link. Loose rocks, good steep inclines, narrow pathways in some spots, great views. I only have it four stars because of the first quarter of the trail and because it was hard to decide which hike we were on. It was pretty.

I feel like the last quarter of this loop was the only part worth seeing. The last quarter for me was where you see the city skyline and the back of dreamy draw along the freeway. The rest of it was incredibly boring and hard to follow in terms of whoever designed this loop on AllTrails. There were more interesting divergences from this path I would have rather taken, but because I was using my GPS to mark the trail, I tried to conserve battery as much as possible.

Really nice hike when you wanna get outside and do something fun. I did it in about an hour, walking, stopping to take pictures, and talk to some of the people I met along. The beginning is considered “steep”.... it gets your heart rate up but it’s not too challenging. The area is beautiful and it has a good view of the city.

This trail was great! The views from the stop are breathe taking and just to sit there and take in the sites is wonderful! Went with a hiking buddy and there were many there who were walking up and down the trail for a workout. Enjoyed the people along the way as well. I recommend this trail for anyone who wants a challenge.

Moderate trail for weekend trekking

Terrible trail. Nothing but loose rocks!!! Pinnacle Peak or Camelback are much better.
