Long Logs is one of the largest concentrations of petrified wood in the park. Explore this ancient log jam at the base of gray badlands via this winding paved path. Make sure to bring water as shade is limited. Accessibility: According to the park website, the first half-mile of this trail is paved and considered accessible for mobility equipment and strollers. Strollers may be able to navigate the loop, but it is not recommended for most wheelchairs/other mobility equipment due to its narrow width and bumpy surface. The average running grade for this trail is 3.5% but the max grade is steep - 20.5%. The average cross slope is 2.9% and the max cross slope is 17.4%. The width varies between two and five feet wide typically. The stairs up to the shade shelter can be avoided by using the Agate House Trail to get to the hilltop. Show more
