Most of it is relatively flat and smooth. Nice views of down town Phoenix & Tempe as well as the Papago Mountains. Lots of people out including families with small children. Definitely a city park . Very accessible & lots of noise from air planes & cars.

Nice easy walk around the Butte

poorly marked. kept going to the wrong trail ,but it's hard to get lost

iconic hike, but crowded. This hike can be completed in 20 minutes, and my kids love it.

More of a tourist attraction than a hike, but cool nonetheless. We found a perch atop the rock and enjoyed the beautiful views easily accessed.

I am asthmatic, so the ease of this trail enables me to enjoy the views on my own and enjoy the sunrise!

Easy trail. Indeed hole in the rock. Crowded. Good view.

Great trail if you’re looking to go for a short run or a short hike to get some fresh air. Essentially no incline and easy to follow.

So short I'd hardly call it a trail and it was pretty crowded but a cool rock formations and view nonetheless!

Cool formation but way way overcrowded. Broken glass all over the ground around the picnic tables and trails. People stomping all over the areas marked as closed for restoration. No thanks.

Family hike, four people of varying fitness levels. We really enjoyed this hike, from the trailhead you can choose to take the long way around a small mountain or head across it. This led to a nice covered sitting area and before the buttes. Perfect spot to stop and sit, one member of our group chose to do so. The rest decided to go up over and through the middle butte to the other side. It was challenging but fun. The downward side took us to an outdoor amphitheater where people were setting up for yoga. A quick trip around and our group was reunited. We took the pages path back to the parking lot and everyone was loving the experience.

If I took a shot for every piece of dog poop I saw on the trail that wasn’t picked up by the owner.....I’d be getting my stomach pumped 50ft in. Also, there were so many paths it was hard to tell where you were supposed to go. Maybe I’m just dumb but I tracked my hike to see how far I walked and when I checked the app, my hike looked like the tree of life lmao Overall easy hike though. Lots of people so if you’re a girl that is afraid to be kidnapped this is the hike for you. Too many witnesses for the kidnapper to get away with the crime

A Tempe/PHX classic hike near population centers. Unique geology and cool views of the Phoenix skyline. Good option close to the Phoenix Zoo.
