Nice easy hike great to see remnants of the Victoria mine plus nice scenery.

Outstanding views well worth the climb!

Always save an offline AllTrails map! It is very easy to miss the trail down from the top, especially if you plan to take in the many off trail views available. The cairns are hard to see in certain terrain and there is no cellular service.

Final advice - Allow six hours for the trip, start your hike at 9 AM to get the best sun for photography, and bring binoculars.

Short trail with beautiful views. Going counter-clockwise was great advice. Also, once you reach Bull Pasture, I wouldn't bother pushing further like the map on AllTrails shows. It continues for another 20 minutes and gives you a bit of a view of another part of the part, but nothing compared to Bull Pasture.

Why come all this way if you aren't going to summit Mount Ajo? It's a beautiful hike.

The Desert View Trail gets you up - close-and-personal with exotic Sonoran flora and offers spectacular views of distant mountain landscapes. The trail is relatively short with just enough hills to keep it interesting. Beware the Jumping Cholla!

Flowers were blooming when I hiked this trail today, so it was incredibly beautiful. At the terminus is an unmaintained trail marked by cairns that threads its way up Arch Canyon. I went up this trail for about 15 minutes, but it doesn't seem to reach the back side of the arch. I assume it connects with the nearby Bull Pasture trail, but I can't confirm this. Next time - when it's not 90+ degrees - I'll check it out!

Flowers were blooming when I hiked this trail today, so it was incredibly beautiful. The trail terminates at the remains of a mine. The bunkhouse is still there - although the roof and a portion of the walls is gone. The mine shafts are barred, so access is prohibited. Not that you'd want to enter even if you could - setting aside the issue of personal safety, there is a strong smell of bats exuding from the mine.

A nice and easy loop around the hills close to the campground.

Arch Canyon trail is an easy out and back trail about ..6-.8 mile one way. If you decide to go up to the arch and on to Boulder Overlook it becomes much more strenuous. Either way, it is beautiful!

Nice hike. I'd like to have continued up to Mount Ajo summit.

Great view at the top, be sure to take the trail counterclockwise for an easier return hike.

So, there are some discrepancies on the distance of this trail. The NPS map shows only the maintained sections which is marked .6 miles one way (out and back) but there is an extension...an unmaintained primitive trail which starts at the "steep trail" warning sign. I have no idea how far up it is to the top of the mountain but another site claims it's 4 miles (roundtrip) with a 900-1100 foot gain in elevation.

The first .6 miles is relatively easy-moderate but I'd rank the primitive trail as moderate to strenuous. Additionally, the trail gets a little tricky to follow, even with the cairns, and requires scrambling up some kinda steep rock. The trail seems to dissipate as well so be aware of your landmarks.

Views are fantastic BUT you cannot get to the arch. As a matter of fact, we were only able to find a tiny side trail that offered a very limited side view from about 200 yards away. We couldn't figure out any way to actually get to the arch. Still a challenging hike and the views are grand.

Pretty steep the last half mile. And don't let the false summit trick you. Keep going up to the ridge where you find the Bull Pasture sign :)

A good winter destination. This is on the Mexican border in the southwestern Arizona desert. The Organ Pipe Cactus are rather unique. The monument has two scenic loop drives, and the whole area is rather remote.

SUPER BEAUTIFUL! It is like being on another planet... coming from the midwest this was just such a striking, gorgeous route.... adore it and will definitely go back.

There are areas to do foot hiking, but I would start from a visitor center and take mapped routes. Bring water, watch out for snakes and scorpions!
