This is a difficult trail. My gps says this out-and-back hike is closer to a total of 12 miles from the parking lot with 4k feet of elevation gain. The Miller Canyon Trail is a mile-long trail of steady, but moderate incline. It’s very nicely shaded, and there’s a creek flowing down the canyon. Then you hit the Miller Peak Trail. The first 1.5-2 miles is pretty steep with switchbacks. Once you hit bathtub spring, basically at the junction to Carr Peak, you only got two miles to the peak.
