Easier trail if you don’t mind some steep hills. I like this trail better than the crack because the terrain is easier to walk on.

Amazing! Trail was hard to follow.

A great hike with a very interesting slot canyon. After rain there may be water in some parts.

I loved this trail! I went in spring after all those rains we had 2018/19 . There was still water in the rocks! We brought trail shoes and sandals. So all was great! I enjoyed all of it. Everything was in bloom. So beautiful.

the views are breath-taking. not too far of a walk, but feels like a lot more of a hike as there are plenty of opportunities to explore side trails and climb rocks.

short and sweet little trail. start at dawn to get nice light on the surrounding mountains. slippery in spots and one spot requires climbing with hands and feet. good views of lake and city from top.

Love this hike, Especially this time of year. All the flowers are blooming, and not to hot. Lots to see. Parts of the crack had waist deep water, which made it more of a adventure going through it. Did come across a rattlesnake, so always watch your step and your surroundings. Was just a beautiful day. 03/21/19

Fun little trail. Little tricky to follow at times, but good hiking

A nice little drive. I think there are some replica light houses on the water that you can drive out to as well.

The cliff and the secret cave that looks down at the city.

Great trail, and hiked through the water in The Crack. it was only a few inches above my knees, and an easy walk through the water.

This was an incredible trail with a lot of different terrain to navigate. Most of the first part of the trail is through a wash. Beautiful array of different rock and cliffs along the way. We took our small dog along and she navigated through it ok, with a few boosts for the larger rock areas through the slot canyon and “crack.” The recent deluge of rains made quite a pool at one point and the water was above my knees to get through the crack. My husband had to carry the dog. Needless to say, our boots were soaked the rest of the way. It was great. The turn around (or halfway point) was the lake and we stopped for lunch. You can continue on the loop up the hillside, but we opted to go back out the way we came in. The trail itself is moderate but the obstacles you navigate through in the crack could be impossible for some people. The rope, the ladder and the wading and balancing through the water are tricky. One of the best experiences hiking we have had. Highly recommend!

Nice little dog walk.

Super fun trail! While going through The Crack we came to about a 10 foot section where the water was too deep to cross. So we doubled back, went up to the Blue Trail, then hiked down to the west end of The Crack and walked up to the impassable water from that end. Then we had to turn around to return via the Blue Trail again. we basically hiked The Crack twice including all of our backtracking.

Many trails in the area to explore. The rope in the crack was a unique feature. Was able to see a group of bighorn sheep.

This was so much fun! I really learned to push myself on this trail-especially when I thought I wouldn’t make it up the rope and I DID!

Fun 9 mile hike. The side of the loop closest to the water had some nice views of the lake as well as interesting rock formations. The other side of the loop was pretty boring.

I didn’t know what I was in for so could have had better grip on my feet but climbed and crawled and slid and rappelled up down and over rocks. Officially baptized in the pool of water at the bottom of the crack, both feet. Heavenly

Excellent for jogging, running, or road biking. However, there are no views.

Pretty steep, doesn’t actually loop around like the pretty little 2 mile loop it says it should be (maybe if you do some rock climbing and extreme stuff it may) We took the first turn in on this loop and never got to the picnic table because of the rock wall. Now the lizard rock formation view was super cool. Make sure you take time to pause and enjoy the views. I learned how to read elevations on this ap after this hike.
