Went on this hike in Oct. 2017. It was about 80 degrees and it does get hot so dress accordingly, especially if the sun is out. Our two German Shepherds joined us and they loved it. The trail is a dirt road with rocks and it is slightly uphill. It's very easy and great for beginners.

It's a road with sand, gravel, rocks, streams crossing and running down a few areas. There is a slight incline for about three miles but getting to the crest is quite steep with loose pebbles. Took lots of water and had fun.

There's a merry go round, giant slide, swings, restrooms and picnic tables at the beginning. No trash cans. It's a very wide, gravelish trail that you can drive down also. We only went halfway, but it was a nice, easy walk. Plenty of water for our dog because of the stream that follows the path. Some shade, not much. Pretty views of the mountain, and not crowded at all.

It was fun..enjoyed the off-road trails as much as the hikes!!
