Take the off road trail, it’s a little longer but well worth it. The hike is not terribly hard, as many said, but the top is a little tricky. I had a 2.5 year old on me & am 4 months pregnant and was able to navigate. Seriously GO EARLY. Since it’s so popular there are tons of people and many who do not respect the basic customs and courtesies of hiking, which gets extremely frustrating when trying to navigate the more award parts. Some parts are not clearly marked so it’s easy to get off trail a little but it helped to expose some extra views.

great hike, some scrambling, but doable, just take your time, view is great, felt the energy of the vortex on top

Nothing is more fun than getting on all fours during a hike 5/5.

Great views and great way to break away from technology!

Awesome! Not too difficult. Well worth the view!!!

pretty rough 3/4 mile at the start then it mellows out. Nice and not busy with wide path to run side by side!

Visiting the chapel is a nice experience. Totally overrun by people but everyone is in a great mood. You could do the little out and back on the Chapel Trail which is a very easy and safe trail. Why not?! Take a little water and go on a stroll with your friends. The Chapel Trail is a nice side trip if you are hiking up Little Horse on your way to Chicken Point. Might as well check out the Chapel on your way!

Great trail! Not too difficult and the view is definitely worth it.

Overall this was a nice hike. Our only frustration was that Google maps took us to a private driveway, which was about 1.5 miles further north on 89N than where we were supposed to start. The owner of the property said it happens a lot. He directed us north on 89 to the Midgley Bridge, and we accessed the trail from there (and hiked back toward Sedona). So... if you want to start on the southern end (near town) take Schnebly Hill Road to the trailhead. Regarding the hike itself, It offered beautiful views of Sedona on one end, a couple creek crossings and nice views at the other end near Midgley Bridge. The middle section was nothing special but provided good shade - Average work out, on the easier to moderate side.

Amazing views!

Found this trail to be pretty difficult. Path finding is difficult and the trail is extremely easy to loose. Over half the hike is was large periodically loose river rock which made hiking with a heavier pack slow and rough on the ankles. Only standing pools infested with mosquitos were found. The whole hike was worth it for the beautiful red rock surroundings and abundant greenery. Its a difficult one so be prepared to bring ample water.

Still snow at the top of Abineau. Hard to connect to the rest of the trail.

hard but good trail, great view on top

A great hike with kids. Parking lot was easy to find, we were able to use National Parks pass for parking (otherwise you may need to pay for parking on honor system). The trail markers were very clear and each major turn in the trail had a map so we can see about how far to the next "check-in". I recommend this one for sure!

Beautiful hike. Go really early to get a good parking spot. We got there just before 7am and were back to the car by 9:30am. It was packed when we came back. The hike gets a little tricky near the end, but it’s definitely doable and very rewarding. Can’t describe how amazing the view is. Also, the bridge is a lot wider then you think, so just enjoy it. Highly recommend.

So incredible! The hike is not too long, and the views are nothing like we’ve seen of Sedona. We will definitely want to do this again. Near the end the climb is pretty steep, but going on the actual Devil’s bridge seems scary but is so fun!

It was a great trail that gave you a fantastic view of the rocks up close. You would go up very narrow and steep stairs, but the top was the best view!

Harder then devils bridge but shorter. About 60% was on all fours or almost on all fours. The view at the end is worth it. Don’t stop at the cave - the end of the walk is marked with a sign. Follow the white paint. Moderately hard hike for average fitness hikers.

Beautiful monument! Didn’t spend to much time, there were lots of visitors. Gift shop is weak, nothing worth buying. Other than that great place to stop.

Volunteers were very informative & genuinely loved the history of this spot. We road down in a rental (Ford Fusion) & it was ok, little bumpy but no big deal. We relaxed outside the center & watched the humming birds. Very relaxing!

Easy hike for us. We are of moderate fitness. We started at mescel parking. It took us about 40-50 minutes to get to the bridge. We started at 3pm and we got to the bridge there was only one other couple there. Didn’t see any snakes, unfortunately!!

It was a scramble, but I made it and I'm a novice hiker. Follow the white trail markers painted on the rocks. The sunset from the top is gorgeous, just make sure you find a seat to watch it because the wind loves to blow in the evening. If you climb maybe 3/4 of the way up to the top, stop and listen. The wind blowing through the spheres sounds like the mesa is humming or singing

Views were incredible, as was Buddha Beach if you choose to venture down the rocky trail to it. 10/10 recommend!! Not to strenuous took my mother with me who is still very new to hiking who also has slight mobility issues and she did just fine.

Just do it as much early during the day for the bridge view

Incredible reward that is Buddha Beach if you follow a rocky trail down into beautiful flowing waters where you’ll find rock art like you’ve never seen! Climbing the rock itself was very scary for me but my husband pushed me along. You’re definitely scrambling in spots and I scooted on my butt down when I go scared. This is one of those challenges where you just gotta say DO IT bc the reward of Buddha beach is enough to bring peace to a challenging hike.

Parking is very limited but we got there early enough to score a spot! Very challenging for my Midwestern blood but the views are breathtaking! The summit is heavenly.

I would rate it moderate for some steep step-ups. Once you reach the top the views of the Sedona valley are fantastic.

the hard part is the drive in, make sure you have no loose fillings in your mouth, it takes almost an hour to get in.
Although we went on a week day, the waterfall was very busy, so once we took some pictures we retreated back to the one of the many accessible natural pools we saw on the way. I just wish people were more considerate and stop littering such natural beauties with crap they no longe needed. SMOKING SHOULD ALSO BE BANNED!!!

Very nice trail, good swimming spots. Small camping area several miles in was pretty crowded with weekend warriors.
