Great hike, but don’t forget your raincoat like I did. Busy in front, but as you make the turn toward Courthouse it breaks off and your the only person walking, except the newlyweds walking hand in hand in the rain. Great Hike if your in the area

Although very popular, this is a very beautiful hike!! The views along the whole trail are spectacular. There are some slight changes in elevation here and there but nothing too difficult.

Pretty fun drive, required a little bit of attention in some places. Took it from the i17 down into Sedona and it only started to get bumpy after Vista Point. Used 4hi the whole way since it was pretty muddy after a big rainstorm but I can see it being no problem in 2wd on a normal dry day. Watch out for the Pink Jeep tours they drive like jerks. We got on the trail about 9am and got through most before seeing the tour jeeps. Good 2 hour cruise with constant stopping for pictures

This one was a wonderful surprise. absolutely loved the climb/scramble to the top and the view was breathtaking. Definitely one you should take on while visiting Sedona but definitely need to be in good shape if you plan on going to the top. So gorgeous!! Loved this one!

We drove our jeep down. Amazing views of the red rock! Took close to two hours and we stopped for photo ops. Only a couple areas where a higher vehicle is needed.

Beautiful scenic drive!

A great hike with beautiful views. Very uphill, but it's worth the steep climb.

Took my 2018 Rubicon Unlimited on this from the I-17 into Sedona. VERY easy trail I think there were 2 spots that really need my attention. I drove it in 2WD the whole way if that tells you anything. Watch out for the Pink Jeep guys some of them are A-holes and think they own the trail. Very pretty views!

Took our LX 570 down the trail into Sedona. The views are pretty spectacular. I’d rate the tail as mostly easy in any 4x4 with the potential to be more difficult in inclement weather. If you’re headed to Sedona this is a worthwhile detour!

Great hike however there are no signs anywhere so we did get lost for a second but some locals helped us out. We parked at crescent moon lot and crossed the river by the vortex. You will have to take your shoes off because there is almost no way to cross it without some water getting on you so account for that. From there on now it’s a nice easy hike through the forest by the river and you’ll get to snap the iconic picture of the Cathedral Rock from the meadows. You need to go down Baldwin trail until it splits into Templeton trail, which there is no sign for, just keep following the river. You’ll eventually go through some switchbacks and onto the cathedral rock ascent you’ll venture. It was lots of fun but definitely not for everybody. A lot of people turned around at he base of it but it’s definitely worth the climb.

Very nice trail. My wife and I Mountain Biked this trail in perfect weather. Did the loop clockwise with no problems.

getting to and from the summit is a bit steep but after that the trail is a breeze. views from the top are nice and the caves are cool, kind of hard to miss really, just turn right once you reach the fork at the top of the trail...

Got started later than planned, so trek back to car was mostly sun and hot. Beautiful views and lots of diversity as trail descends to a river. I would recommend this trail.

This trail is seriously a hidden gem! It’s definitely very rocky, but we didn’t even need to use four wheel drive. You will encounter Jeep tours throughout, but they don’t usually hang out for too long at the rest points. There is an amazing view point at Schnebly Vista Overlook. Honestly amazing views through the whole trail. It’s so beautiful to see the transition of colors throughout this trail and you really get a little bit of everything. Pictures will be posted!!!

Great fun, we took our stock JL Sahara from I17 over to Sedona. Road to to top from 17 is passable by almost any vehicle (within reason, don’t take your 911), but the west side gets moderately technical at times. I felt the need to have it in 4L most of the way down. If I was coming up the hill from Sedona, I think 4L would definitely be a handy bonus. Good clearance also helpful or else your really going to spend a lot of time plotting your line. We scraped once, I took on a rock that was boarderline. A lot of great places to stop, beautiful views!

Easy trail to navigate and not a lot of elevation changes. I went on this trail in early May and although it was hot, I was able to complete the trail with no problems. I started out early in the morning though so keep that in mind. Great views of Bell Rock and surrounding terrain. I recommend going clockwise on this trail because most people start off going counter-clockwise. Well marked and quiet. Took me about 3 hours because we took lots of breaks to take pictures. Account for extra time if you want to climb bell rock.

Got off I17 at exit 320. The 1st half isn't bad, avg 10 to 20 mph. But once you get to the scenic overlook at the 1/2 way point was a little more technical going down hill trying to pick the path of least resistance and lots of traffic and Pink Jeep tours, speed was more around 5 mph. The views are incredible making it a 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Took me 2 hr and 15 minutes in total to finish the loop.

Love it! Will come back and climb the rock!

First time mountain biking and it was perfect for me. View was awesome! Would do it again

I couldnt find the trail. :( Very disappointing. I even did research online before I went. Searched for blogs with tips on how to find it. i used GPS originally to find it. It told me I had arrived but there was no trail. I kept going down the fire road that the GPS takes you on. It is very rough and had lots of washouts. You will need to have a 4x4 vehicle to get to the trail if it was further up the road. I had to back down and turn around because there was no way my Camary was making it any further without getting stuck.

This is a great trail that requires a 4x4 vehicle to get over some of the rocks. A little rough and bouncy but I find that enjoyable. Take the road slow and enjoy the views. There are many Pink Jeeps on the road and everyone is very respectful of each other. When you get to the vista the views are AMAZING!

First half of the hike was awesome, followed the directions from another post to get to the caves which were neat. Views at the top were great, practically a 360 of the city. We followed the loop to return, and must have taken a wrong turn at a fork because we ended up on a trail that parallels 89 for a bit. Walking near the road and in people's backyards were the only negatives to this hike. If we had stayed in the woods would have been lovely. Water/Gatorade/snacks highly recommended! Some shady spots depending on time of day

Great long trail. It has a couple of spots to get out of you vehicle and walk around, about 4 miles out you can pull over and with a small hike climb up to some beautiful rocks and look out over the valley and cow pies. Great photo ops and a dry creek bead to explore. Take your time, can be very rough at some points, take your time and enjoy the ride. Did this trail in a FJ Cruiser with 3 inch lift. Saw a Hyundai Santa Fe pull it off.

Starts off fairly flat then BAM the climb begins and never ends. Beautiful at the top. Would of been five stars but signing for loop a little confusing. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Very rough on the bottom half ,averaged 3mph in a Trialhawk. Half way up it opens to much smoother dirt where all the camping is from the I17 side. Averaged 15mph. Great views, great for Cam-am , lots of pink Jeeps . Great easy course

Hello all

Going to do this tomorrow with my family in my 4runner. I have a 3 inch lift and am not worried about clearance, however I was wondering if everyone aired down while on this trail? I see that it is very bumpy so I dont want to be bouncing all over the place.

Let me know!

Michael

Very beautiful and scenic trail. Should be a moderate rating due to some larger rocks sticking out the trail.

Great scenery! Enjoyed the trail around Bell Rock and walking through trees, up pathways and seeing all sides of the rock formation. Highly recommend paying attention to the trail markers to ensure you follow the loop and don’t end up on the wrong side of the fence. Definitely worth the stroll!

It was a good hike, not too strenuous up the mountain. Missed the caves though. There should be a sign showing the trail to the caves.
