Description

Shuyak Island State Park comprises almost the entire island with incredible rugged coastline, beaches, and protected waterways. The park hosts a beautiful coastal forest system with Sitka spruce trees, among others. You cannot drive to this park. You must take either a seaplane or a boat. The park is very remote and wild, so there are barely any facilities onsite, and you may not see a ranger or employee for days. The island sees severe and unpredictable weather, so plan accordingly.
