It's a beautiful trail and such a short loop, but don't go in the spring without proper hiking shoes, the ice is still there (wow i'm such a lower 48er) and you can end up nearly falling in the river multiple times.

Windy and sublime

Cool hike with a little wildlife, some grizzly activity at the end of the trail ( moose lunch). skip the bus return and hike both directions.

Remarkable view of the Denali Park Village from the top!

Only did a mile from the river side, but still gorgeous!

Great for the entire family! Easy and absolutely stunning.

Great Hike! The switch backs make it easier and I felt more moderate than hard.

Well traveled and beautiful views all around. Gets pretty winding toward the top ridge and cold. Good climb and distance is about right for a moderate hike.

Gentle walk around the Eielson Visitor Center area and a good way to stretch your legs after the long bus trip. Lots of alpine flowers. On a clear day there are wonderful views of Denali.

Beautiful hike. We went with a Ranger and she was really informative while keeping the hike to a gentle pace. It does have quite a bit of elevation gain, but the trail is good.

Best hike we took while in Alaska. Hiked up the gradual side from the Mountain View trail. Stopped for lunch at the summit and spectacular views. Instead of hiking back over, we walked 2 mi along Park Rd back to our car.

Very easy. Enjoyed this little day hike. So pretty too!

Awesome experience... we set up hammocks off the trail using boulders as anchors.. seen 2 Caribou, & about a dozen doll sheep.. hiked up the mountain vertically to the top 4,244' .. an amazing hike!!!

Great hike with amazing views. My four kids ages 4-12 did it with me.

Awesome views of Denali, if you’re in the area and happen to be backpacking, try to catch a view early in the morning. Got some awesome pictures of the summit up there.

Gorgeous hike, I started from the inclined end. The sky was clear and I could see Denali. There were 2 bull moose laying in the thickets within 100 yards from one another. Just an amazing hike and not too strenuous.

Great, gradual hike with an excellent view. It isn't time consuming and there are several lookout points along the hike for taking breaks. A good family hike.

The trail is somewhat steep, but the views at the top are amazing. There is a great open area at the top that you can explore, with 360° views. We did the Ranger hike, which was very informative. After the Ranger set us loose, we spent an hour at the top, which was awesome. Highly recommended.

Start out on the Tiaga trail right at the Visitor's Center which takes you to the Mt Healy Overlook Trail. The first part of the trail winds you through the spruce forest, over a creek and then eventually opens up to the views. When we were there, the mountain was jam-packed with berries, and we stopped many times to sample and rest as we made our way up. The trail was sometimes difficult for us being in our 60s, but there we just rested and drank water along the way. The trail will traverse back and forth until you finally reach the top and are rewarded with beautiful views. You don't need to stop at the top of the trail and can wander around on the mountain top. Wear layered clothing and bring water. We did not experience any bugs, but I always have the bug dope on any hike just in case. This is most enjoyable and I highly recommend to any able bodied person.

Great hike with great views!

Great trail! Stunning views. About a 1-1.5 hour hike up to the top. Highly recommend!

A cute and leisurely walk. Something to do while you're at Savage River.

Great great trail in the Park. A little tough on the incline but well worth it and it gets easier as it goes.

not hard!! this is a pretty easy trail as trails go. just watch out for the thieving ground squirrels and don't feed them, please! do make noise in the brushy low areas, because bears do hang out here.

A bit boring until near the top. Then it is great! The park lists this trail as strenuous. I would say it is mildly strenuous. Wildflowers abound!

Great views. Fairly steep but not too bad.

Amazing

One of the few maintained trails in the park. Great views and manageable as a hike. A family with 4 kids did it with us and made it out fine.

The end near Savage River connects with the loop and is much steeper. If you want the most for your time, start at Mountain Vista and take the trail north to Savage River Loop. You can combine both into a 6 mile hike that is flat at both ends. Take the bus back to start point or all the way back to park entrance

be prepared for some incline. great hike to prove you need to get back in shape. awesome views at the top.
